Kate was trying to explain to Meghan that the dress could not JUST be altered. ALL of the dresses needed to be completely taken apart to be remade into the smaller size. For people that cannot and do not sew, there is a difference between taking in a bit and hemming, and disassembling the dress to cut it smaller. Think of a wedding dress for a 300 pound women being” altered to fit a 14 year old child. What Kate was trying to explain is that the modifications necessary for all of the bridesmaids was too extensive for one tailor to accomplish. Meghan had micromanaged the entire affair up until that time, and Kate was trying to tell her the situation. In the end, Kate arranged for a bunch of dress makers to recut and reassemble all of the dresses, basically “ taking care of it”, then Meghan threw her under the bus and was absolutely horrible to Charlotte from then on mocking her blisters on her feet from the new shoes and calling her a cry baby.

My guess is that the reported disagreement erupted over hosiery. For her first appearance I was appaled to see Markle in bare legs, and cheesy heel strap, illfitting shoes.

I read somewhere that Meghan had gone into Charlotte’s bedroom when she was in bed asleep, and took photographs of her.
