CONGRATS on the new level; we gradually build and grow. Like you I started out with a simple PC with a Sound Blaster sound card, Cakewalk, a Yamaha DJX keyboard/Midi Controller, an Alesis NanoComp, a simple microphone along with some computer speakers; today I have “two” studios (two workstations in one room - a production desk and a mixing/mastering desk). Both studios/desks are at the caliber that I can record and mix like any project studio. The race is not for the swift; we build and grow as we go. I don’t make any money from my studios but I enjoy them and as it is they don’t cost me anything but my time and electricity. Thanks for sticking with it and providing entertainment and learning value to those of us that watch… Also thanks for the gear lust which adds to my gear acquisition syndrome (GAS).👍🏽

Man, I kind of got emotional watching this, especially when your kiddo was just sitting there in your chair while you and Ariana placed the console into the desk. I could just feel for you that this was such a cool, affirming, full-circle kind of moment in so many ways. I started watching your channel back when you only had like 5 videos released, and then I stopped my music production hobby for a couple of years. It's so cool to revisit your channel and see what you've made of it. Keep it up, brother, and may God continue to bless you and your family.

I love your story! I started my musical journey back in 1991 working as an intern at Chung King Studios in lower Manhattan (NYC). It was the first time I ever touched large format consoles (NEVE VR's). The outboard gear and the Mic collection was insane to say the least. I had my first real introduction to Midi and the newly released Sonic Solutions which seemed light years ahead at that time. What I remember most during those years was the tactile feel of faders, knobs, buttons and transports. It felt so artistic and immersive. Little by little I began building up my own personal studio so I could venture out on my own. 30 years later I am happy to say that I was able to keep the dream alive and continue producing and engineering music. You are doing a fantastic job spreading your wealth of knowledge to aspiring engineers/producers as well as veterans like me. We are a small but respectable community, and we can all learn from one another. Keep up the great work!

Definitely, a supporting and beautiful wife makes all the difference in adulthood... and parents make all the difference in childhood. I'm not bitter, but things don't go someone's way always, no matter the effort. My family lived in a flat, so hard to play instruments there, I managed to get a rehearsal space, but my dad (a musician too) died early, and my stepdad didn't have a place for my (and my dads) instruments, so they live (or should I say collect dust) in an overfilled garage! And forget about me going to any of the music schools I was drooling for since I was a youngster. There wasn't the money, nor the "moving" possibility. Even now, I'm 44, and instead of having had a career in music, I have worked as a chef for some years, and then almost a decade working as a nurse assistant at an elderly home, up to the point of getting chronically sick, depressed, and now disabled! Still, I have hopes! and won't give up! And I cherish those who have the opportunity and take it, making something fruitful out of it. The worst is having all the opportunities and don't go for them. I congratulate the Masters for their hard work and great results. :)

awesome dude! have to say at first i thought you´d get that old trident the way you built it) i´ve only watched a few videos from you over time but i have to say: you´re really good at this! i´m 51 now, been doing music (started with house, in recent years ended up in retro funk, soul, jazz, disco) for about 30 years now. never had a "client", just my own stuff. got a harrison 32 in 2001, went through a few others and now sitting in front of a 64 ch ADT (german broadcast SSL style) since 3 years. passion is the thing that differentiates you from others. music and my studio is my life. everyday i´m watching clips and trying things. i wish i had the chance to learn at a big studio, i really miss that. anyway, i´m blathering ... have fun and keep following your heart and your dream!

You are a huge inspiration to many of us. It is so nice to see you get the products you've always wanted, and seeing the process of the work paying off. I also have to add that it is great how supportive your wife is over you and your music. Helping you carry the console and placing it in the desk, and she looked just as happy as you were. I had an ex (notice I said ex) who basically told me that I needed to give up music if I was going to be with her. What you need is someone supporting your dream, your reason in life, and that is what stood out to me here. Keep on going man!

I only do voiceover in my home studio, and what I have is very modest. What you have is one very high end studio. It's amazing how far you've come, along with great support from your wife and child. The fact that she'd help carry that big console up the stairs shows how supportive she is of your dream. You're still young and can do so many things. Make it happen. Make great music. Make it all count! I'll still be plugging along here in my modest little studio, recording commercials for radio and TV, training videos and narrating audio books. But I'm enjoying the dream, too. Thanks so much for the video!

Top 3 Moments: *Getting the new desk and console (Learning on a Trident Console and returning to one at this point of your life is the definition of "Full Circle") *Your wife actually helping you carry the console. (Seeing your wife help you carry the console was so symbolic of her helping you carry the weight of your vision and supporting you in many other things only you could name) *Your son showing interest in what you do (Your son sitting at the console gave me such joy knowing that if he so desired, you would help guide him along his musical path)

I just love videos like this. The 1st time your channel came up, I was a skeptic as there are tons of "mixing" / "sound engineers" coming up on youtube left and right but it wasnt their job professionally at that time. But I subscribed and enjoy it. At times when this kind of life where youll have to gamble everything you have to run a studio for your work, and sometimes work isnt there, channels like yours entertains me just to give a push and be reminded that this is the life we chose. I love it. It might be just another gear for some, but I somehow understand what these gears sometimes means for us. and its value is more than what it will do to our workflow but a milestone in our life. I'm so happy for you man!!

Andrew, thank you for all the inspiration. I've been building my dream studio since last July and have been watching your videos sometimes 2 and 3 times. I'm a union electrician by trade but have been pursuing audio and gear repair since I got my first boombox in the early 80's. A hip hop guy by design, I've amassed many of the sounds I hear in my favorite productions. I started with an SP1200 back in 2001 and just restored a Hammond B2 over the last month. I worry sometimes that I'm making a museum but I use this stuff at every opportunity and the university is near by so I'm hoping to partner with them at some point. Godspeed sir.

That was so inspirational that I've finally decided to drop everything and finally follow my dream. I've sold my house, left my wife and kids and finally decided to buy a Lambordghini, the car of my dream. You're right, with the right frame of mind, there's no limits to what you can achieve. Thank you.

Wow, congratulations! You are a real inspiration to someone like me starting a new journey/career. Whenever I am feeling doubtful that I can do something new, I watch videos by creators like you... hard work pays off; but more importantly: hard work, consistency and perseverance.

Great video Andrew. This is one of my favorite videos you've done for your channel. You've worked hard and deserve all the success coming your way. I was in the group that got exposed to your build videos in the other house, and right then I could tell you were one of the ones committed to both the process of recording and the ability to tell an informed story. Congrats and thank you. ~storm
