Andrewsarchus Guide for ARK: Survival Evolved

In this video I will show you how to find and tame the Andrewsarchus the new giant dog with a minigun turret which you can find on the Fjordur map in ARK: Survival Evolved. The andrewsarchus is a passive tame that will require honey and skill in order to bring to heel. But once that is done you will be able to make a minigun turret saddle for it, that is just so fun to use. It is a great swimmer and an excellent all-round mount that every player in ARK should get!

Fun fact Andrewsarchus is actually closer to pigs than it is to true carnivores. It has hooves and is closely related to daeodon.

Actually it’s hippos and whales and not pigs at all. Outside of both being ungulates they are not that closely related. This also applies to the Daeodon. It’s a common misconception. However! There is another creature that fits the title of giant pig in the fossil record and is actually closely related..

They never collected pearls and the dossier specifically says it's density in water would make it ideal for searching ocean floors for pearls.

@@KrystianZieba-kc8tx, if you have a saddle on it, you won't get knocked off by microraptors and other dismounters. And you can't be shot out off the turret unless enemies brought in a tek railgun.

Andrewsarchus isn't related to dogs as much as it's related to modern day pigs and hippos. It's actual closest relatives are entelodonts like Daeodon, hence the "hoof paws" it has. It's swimming abilities probably come from it's relationship with hippos as well. As for the turret saddle... I dunno it's cool I guess, I don't know what scientific or pop culture reference it might have tho.
