The 2023 US Open main draw runs from August 28 - September 10 in New York City at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center. The tournament takes place for the 143rd time and is the fourth and final Grand Slam of the year. Last year, Spain's Carlos Alcaraz and Poland's Iga Swiatek claimed the men's and women's singles titles. It was both players' first US Open title, with Alcaraz winning his first Grand Slam title and Swiatek winning her third Grand Slam title. This year, at the US Open, we’re set for another historic tournament as the world’s best tennis players head to New York. Honestly his consistency is so so admirable!! It's definitely an achievement to reach the QF of all GS so often and it should be praised more!! I've been following Rublev since basically the beginning and seeing him so consistently at the top makes me so proud!! He's so humble, down to earth and hard working that I'm sure we'll see him in a SF soon!!!

Yeah, I love Rublev. He’s like the David Ferrer of this era. Consistent quarter finals but always losing to the top four seeds. I hope he can break through

This was a hard battle in extreme conditions, conditions that players shouldn't be forced to play in... Still Andrey fought like a lion till the very end and that's why he is my champion, my hero! ❤️ I know it must be so tough right now, Andrey... But remember that you did your best, you showed so much strength! And most importantly remember that we love you no matter what 🖤

Most of Rublev's matches in Slams and ATP are all in the morning or afternoon sessions. He requests them for these conditions as he prefers it more than night sessions because it helps his game. So he should not be finding any excuses for conditions!

@@tmatrix1What are you even talking about? The conditions were horrendous, Medvedev complained about them profusely... Rublev didn't complain nor did he use the conditions as an excuse.. And how would you know what Rublev requests & when? Did you read something one time & think it applies to every single match & every single slam.. & somehow makes you some sort of an expert?🙄

What a drag for the players especially when they don’t win, to have to talk about other players. I wish the questions will change and evolve. Just tune into the player and you can tell that they don’t really want to talk about others when they’re down.

I just adore Rublev. He seems like such a sweetheart, and honest, and funny. So handsome, too, which doesn't hurt. Reminds me a bit of the great Nureyev in his appearance! Rublev and Medvedev are now my two favorite players, since Fed and Nadal aren't around. Men's tennis is awesome these days but I hate the big servers. Ruins the game.

A big serve is an asset. You remember Sampras and his serve ? However, if your serve is big and that's all you have then your game will not be great.

@@sandrabradley3703 I agree that players with a big serve can be amazing like Sampras, but i never enjoyed watching him play. When players have these enormous serves i really think it ruins the game. Big servers usually win their service games (unless Djokovic is returning serve; he's amazing) on their serves alone, which is boring. Where are the rallies? Where is the net game? And when you have two big servers playing each other, snore city! I'm not the only one saying this; pundits much smarter than me seem to agree. But there is nothing you can do about it. You can't tell someone not to serve big.

I have played in conditions like this and it is very hard in so many ways. Hard to breathe, sweat out of control, grip being sweaty constantly, always needing water. It is tough, big props to these guys

Garbage, go back in history and plenty of Tennis matches have been played in far worse conditions. Aus Open is in January, the middle of summer in Australia. How many degrees was it for their match?

Hi class from Rublev! I hope he can bring more finesse in his game. Was a true warriors match in difficult and brutal conditions. Much respect for both players. What about closing that roof next time when it's like 40C... Shame at Stacey / the US Open.

I think for Rublev so much of his issue is mental/internal conflict. A sports psychologist could help because he has serious physical weapons.

Rublev has said many times that he's well-aware that his mentality is a weakness - he & his team are working well on it & there have been huge improvements. These things don't sort themselves out completely overnight & it's not a linear process, but the progress is obvious to those who actually follow his career (the ignorant trolls who hate him for no reason will always be biased & uninformed in their criticism of him).

It's definitely getting better. But he's got to stop getting to angry, it's makes him too up and down, takes him out of contention. So hard to win when you erupt like that. Best forehand in tennis atm.

I agree that mentally Andrey needs some support, but his tactics are too one dimensional for these best 3nof 5 slams. He can win some and go deep into the tournament, but as the levels rise, he finds it more difficult to keep up the consistency. Such a likeable guy and personality. ❤

...at times he loses control of his temper but doesn't show anything unsportsmanlike conduct whenever I have watched him play. Consummate professional most especially to the fans. He offers no excuses and always gives credit to the efforts of his opponents. One of the best positive influences in all of sports. I truly hope you become a Grand Slam Champion. Rooting for you!!

You don't need to be a psychology expert to know that losing Grand Slams by a top player at the very same stage of Quarter-Finals 9 times (!!) is pure mental thing. Different years, different tournaments, different rivals and for some reasons he always loses at QFs and with every next lose it sticks in his head even more, whether he wants it or not. If he is smarter than Tommy Robredo (who has lost 7 GS QFs) he will hire a decent mental trainer but from what I heard he thinks he doesn't need one. He has 3 managers in his box and 0 mental trainers, so well, it's his choice - I heard he suffers from depression - maybe he doesn't really want to improve and progress or is scared of it?

Or maybe he just does not have the game to go deep in the best of five. I think people throw around the mental word too much but in reality, in many cases, most of these players simply do not have the game or game plan. Rublev is a great player but he does not the weapons to disrupt the top elite players in the best of five. His issue has less to do with sports psychology and more to do with developing plan B, C and D and diversifying his game plan and weapons.

US Open, please watch these videos and observe the kind of questions the olayers don’t like. Read the cues, they don’t seem to enjoy the process at all. They want to share other things, not how great or challenging the other player is.

I am sorry, but you were brilliant,so wanted you to go ahead. Both of you suffered greatly and that is not right. The us open organisers were crazy, mad and very disrepective of any player to play in these conditions. Medvedev is right, somebody could suffer greatly from this heat and humidity. But RUBLEV YOU ARE STILL MY FAVOURITE AND LOVE YOU AND YOUR Tennis SKILLS , you are amazing

I was rooting for him but ended up disappointed! 0-9 in QF is unbelievable! to think that Djokovic has made 52 SF and Andrey cant have 1... both are top 5-10... needs to change his team... his game lacks variety, and may be a mental coach

It's a valid critique, I like Rublev and I'm rooting for him to get farther at these events, but he's right. He needs to improve other parts of his game an try different tactics like coming forward, using the slice, dropshot, etc. if he wants to take the next step and compete for slams like Djoker, Alcaraz, and Medvedev. A lot like Fritz in that regard. @@BHdowntheline

@@Pure_B It would certainly appear to be a mental issue yeah, he's only won a set in 2 of those 9 quarterfinals as well. The most disappointing quarter final I would say has to be losing to 33 year old Cilic in 5 sets at the 2022 French Open.

And losing to Tiafoe. In fairness to Cilic and Tiafoe they did play one of the best matches of their careers. They played out of their minds at the FO and USO last year. The other losses were understandable to Djoko, Meddy and Rafa. @@ashleythomas4112

@@Pure_B There was the loss to Tsitsipas at the 2020 French as well. Cilic did play great at the French last year but Rublev was so close, got to a final set tie break but lost it 10-2. Surely he would've been very disappointed with how that tiebreak went with him being so close to finally breaking his duck and getting to that first slam semi final. Ruud managed to take down in Cilic in 4 sets in the semis as well. The other losses to Rafa, Novak and Meddy are understandable though, yeah.

poor Andrey he doesn't have enough weapons, lacks in variation on the serve, lacks in topspin and switch from topspin to flat when required, playing too liniar with very little side spin on the ball, very predictible game. Med was so relaxed waiting on his serves at 140 mph because he knew where the ball in coming. There is definitely a coach problem there as long as you don't make adjustments over time. So it is his choice to stay consisten or take the risk by changing his style.
