Great video, thanks for sharing! I'm looking into buying a car that has android auto. Is on star or any other monthly subscription required for this to work? I would primarily use the Google Maps and spotify. (I asked google this, and got mixed responses, perhaps someone here knows)

can anyone help, I have a 2020 yaris. (sedan) when I plug my phone into usb cord using the andriod auto port (the top usb port) & then select the usb for audio source it will start playing my pandora. I don't think it originally did this, just started recently. is there a feature within the radio I select? i researched & found something about a auto start in car feature in the pandora app but that feature is already turned off.

No. Apps must be compatible with Android Auto which is controlled by Google and the app maker.

So it has to be connected to the USB to work it can't be wireless?

Unfortunately, most vehicles do not have wireless Android Auto or Apple CarPlay.

Once you plug your phone into the radio your phone will prompt you to setup Android Auto

I have a 2019 Impala and Android Auto only worked in the dealership parking lot when I bought it. Hasn't worked since. I keep getting "Oops! Something happened with the connection." It connects via Bluetooth just fine but I haven't been able to make this app work correctly for 2 years.

You can send in your radio for an inspection from our repair team.

It's says the app is installed on my phone but when I plug in my phone, nothing comes up to set up the app 🤷‍♀️

Sounds like your current radio isn't Android Auto compatible.

Android Auto will automatically add apps that are compatible with the platform. All other won't be included in the Auto interface on your vehicle's touchscreen.

My android auto pushes a podcast app as top priority. Any input turn it on. I have disabled it but it keeps coming back! So far totally unimpressed with every aspect of this app
