God bless you. Right on time. I needed to work but my internet is down. I had to use my phone. I was surprised that it didn't use much data like I expected it to be. 800mb for 8 hrs worth of work/VPN stuff. When my wifi turned back on, I noticed that the tethering also works when your phone is connected to the wifi network and plugged in to your desktop.

It's easier than that. Connect the mobile phone to the PC. Select and connect in the settings - Network & Internet Hotspot & Tethering. And in an emergency you have internet again. But be careful with the credit on your cell phone. A flat rate is very suitable for this.

Thanks, just wondering though, if I do this will apps like Netflix be able to use this like a wifi. I have tried hot spotting my phone to use up some of my internet data, but Netflix needs an actual Wifi connection. Any suggestions?

This does not work when using a 5G mobile network via USB especially via an Asus router which allows 3G/4G tethering only. A 5G mobile phone would also need USB3 as USB2 is too slow and doesn't provide enough power to keep the tethered device fully charged.

my 5G phone works fine for KZfaq and Google but whenever I try to play video games on it I can't connect to any servers. I don't know why that is, but 5G definitely works at least somewhat

Pressing yes or no will not affect your internet connection, it's for some windows stuff that no one uses
