Hey Google! Please use your power and talk to Mercedes ASAP. It's embarrassing to see that CarPlay can make use of the whole 21:9 screen while when using Android Auto you can only use a small fraction of the screen and 1/3 of the screen just shows the Android Auto logo. I'm driving a 2019 C Class and I don't get it why Android Auto has to look so bad in that car while CarPlay shows that it's definitely technically possible to use the whole screen. Please, please send some help over to the guys at Mercedes. Thank you in advance!

Does 'adaptive' mean that I can still set navigation to full screen? Because, really, that's all I need Android Auto for.

When Google originally came out with Driver Assistant before Android Auto and it was excellent. All commands were done verbally with no touching of the phone. Since it was a great idea, Google killed it then came out with Android Auto and Assistant Driving Mode with the pathetic GUI that requires constant manual touching of the screen which is not safe and illegal in most states. My wife's 2020 Hyundai Sonata has Android Auto capability but it requires USB wire connection every time you get in the car. I could buy the Motorola MA1 wireless mini-hub but that still requires another cable and hub laying around. What is the difference with cable to the phone or cable to MA-1? MA-1 is another device that could cause connectivity issues. My wife and I both have Samsung phones (Galaxy Note 20 Ultra and Galaxy Fold 2) which I configured to have Bixby routines and Google Assistant routines to control the phones. When we start our vehicles, Bixby detects and connects to bluetooth in the car then our phones automatically open up PowerAmp app then starts playing music. (We also have the capability to stream internet radio stations from our phone while driving.) I then have Bixby routine turn off Wi-Fi then open a custom shortcut that opens three app windows (Google Maps, Messenger, Bluemail) in a tile window on one screen so the app windows don't overlap each other. We then tell Google Assistant "work" which then sets route to work. All text messages are announced automatically through car stereo while driving and we respond via voice command. (Privacy issue if you have other people in the car with you that you don't want to hear your messages.) We could announce e-mails but they can be wordy so we turned it off. We never touch the screens on our phones and the phones sit in a wireless charging mount. I also have another app that keeps the Samsung screens from timing out while driving. All these routines automatically reverse after we turn off the car. The latest Samsung phones have the capability to run these Bixby routines and they are easy to setup. I realize that not everyone owns or can afford a Galaxy phone but there are ways to automate these tasks if you use Bixby and Google Assistant. Sorry for the wordy comment but I wanted to help people drive safely.

I'd like for Google Maps in Android Automotive to be able to read my Google Calendar so it can suggest my next meeting destination when I hop in the car. (Volvo XC40). Otherwise I'm keen to see Audible, Waze and Uber apps. I'm glad you're making progress.

I don't even want to update to this. I use Android Auto mostly for work, and want more of the map viewable, so I can see a head of where I'm going. We really need a alternative view, to this. Where I can put the map in full view. Until then, I'm not updating.

I can't wait for the new android auto design to be live. Quite frankly it's the last thing keeping me on iPhone. Once it's live as long as it's this aesthetic and not granulated I'll be ready to jump ship.

Must admit these changes can't come quickly enough. As an everyday user I find the experience from Apple CarPlay on my work phone is hugely superior to that of Android Auto. Wireless connectivity is an unreliable abomination compared to Apple CarPlay. The Android Auto user interface looks appalling on my 13" infotainment screen, again Apple CarPlay look big, bright and beautiful. Seriously, there's a lot of work needs to be done.

Please add no-nonsense connectivity between android phones and cars. there is always connectivity issues, android auto random reboots and/or connectivity issues.

Hey Product Manager of Android Auto - App has lot of popular bugs which commonly encountered for most of the users. - It looses sound when phone call received and sound start coming from phone. - It doesn't have KZfaq app so no use of having screen in car. - App is very slow, any option selected react after 1 sec. - Please improve the app as user don't have option than Android Auto.

My biggest concern with Android Auto (and the apple one too, to a lesser extent) is the massive violation of privacy and worse, the recklessness with how our data is handled. Not only does Android Auto relies on Google Services, which means that all of our data gets sent to Google to sell to 3rd parties, but the data ends up stored on the car and unscrupulous mechanics can pull it for their own nefarious needs (like figuring out our routine and then sending their burglar buddy to our home to empty it while we are at the office). Frankly, it makes Android Auto unusable. Since all of this is no secret and has been widely exposed through social media, I assume that some work to correct it is in progress. What privacy improvements have been achieved over the last year? What privacy improvements are in the works? And don't assume privacy is irrelevant, it is a competitive advantage war that Apple and the Ungoogled Android OS' are winning. In my case I am actively looking for alternatives and seriously considering going with Apple or perhaps GrapheneOS, e/OS or LineageOS, in that order.

For Android Automotive on my 2022 GMC Yukon I was excited to see KZfaq and KZfaq Kids in the rear entertainment app sources alongside Hulu. Hulu works flawlessly and allows you to sign in and stay logged in however with both KZfaq applications you cannot sign in to your account. When you tap on the Sign In button on the page you get a notification that pops up on the display that says: “The link cannot be accessed from your vehicle” Is there a fix coming for this or is there another way to do this than the way I am doing it? For context, I am already signed in to my google account on my infotainment display in the front and can access all of the content(Google Play store, Maps, Assistant etc.) but no luck in the rear with either KZfaq app.

Hello...predicting the future is at best a guess...meanwhile I can no longer use Android Auto between my Android 7.1 and my '22 Kia Soul infotainment system. Google has stopped the app from working. Are there any solutions for projecting my phone to the car screen that will work with my 7.1?

You know what would make Android Auto better? Being able to make a call and being able to hear the person in talking to and then being able to hear me. That would be great. Another plus would be if the sound didn't stop right in the middle of a song I like. I'm sure many others that have left the same or similar reviews in the Play Store feel the same way. Fix the basics first. The small things aren't so small. So considering the issues that I'm having, this video is worthless.

Android Auto has been terrible this past month. All it does is disconnect. Just got the newest update driving down to Orlando and it disconnected 3 times in an hour.

I love Android auto and have used it for years, but I hate to plug the phone in every single time. Usually many times a day since as soon as I get out of my car, I need to take the phone with me. Due to that, my previous phones USB-C socket was worn out and stopped taking charge and also connectivity t the car stopped. Had to replace it. My new car as of 2022 does not have Wireless android auto. In my opinion all cars would have had that years ago, but many does not have it still today. IS that the car makers fault or Google. Google should have pushed harder about this. But since I don't want to break yet another phone due to Android auto I bought a Wireless Android auto Dongle. It works, but miles, MILES away as smooth as the cheap cars I have seen with built in Apple carplay. Apple won this race, I really though Google would be better, but cars that has Wireless Apple carplay does not have wireless Android auto. But of course the best of the best is to have Android automotive. The days of Android auto is soon gone for new cars (I hope). Please Google, push car manufacturers to get Android automotive. That would be so much better than both Android auto and Apple carplay.

Please go back to Android Auto for Android 12. Please get rid of Driving Assistant Mode! It's illegal in most/all states to look at your phone while driving. It is mush easier to follow navigation when it is on my head unit in front of me not on my phone screen. Come on Google please consider driver safety. Thank you

You talk about design efficiency...but how about the terrible use of space? I know that icons need to be big enough for drivers to tap, but this is way over kill. I'd rather have an extra inch of space for maps rather than massive graphics and black bars.

Why not use Android Auto natively without a phone a get rid of the Android Automotive OS it's so bad no 3rd party developers not even Google will make Waze for it. Plus Android Auto interface is better more mature and has more apps available. Why separate Google why not make them one like Huawei would. Please fix automotive OS make it the same and compatible with Android Auto. This is the reason i hate my car interface.
