I have been enthralled by Art Deco since the late 1970's when I saw the movie Xanadu.

I have decorated my little townhouse like a European cottage with art deco accessories. I call them my Art Deco leanings. I have been able to stumble onto a couple furniture pieces from the era. Your pictures definitely show how well art deco enhances other styles.

I love the curvilinear version of art deco - arches, fans, feathers, globes, limited palette, symmetry, velvet, mirrors echoing other elements, streamlined forms.

The RED carpeted room was fabulous.

Art nouveau and Art Deco is an inspiration for my game room and my bathroom. I plan for my bathroom to be clean lines and geometric shapes. The game room is also where I'm going to put all my books so I want it to be more organically creative.

If I could have my whole home Art Deco, I would! Started with lighting and have ventured onto beautiful china , mostly vases at this point . Would love to go into art work, mirrors , side tables. I think its the accessories that make a home yours.

*Most of these pictures are not art deco* And when I think of art deco, I do not think of farmhouses. Art deco was strong in the 1920's. It's roots are in France. Many city buildings in New York had an art deco design. It was shown in the movie The Great Gatsby. When I think of Art deco, I think of Jazz music, glamour, gold, black and bold colours.

I too love the Art Deco movement, unfortunately the vast majority of your dazzling pictures have absolutely nothing, nothing to do with Art Deco.
