For those who have been through the era of Federer, Djokovic, Nadal, and Murray, it's been a truly remarkable eras to witness. Can't imagine what tennis will be like when all of them are officially retiring.

I am following tennis since 2000 and I have followed the journeys of those 4 players you mentioned but the show will go on...Someone else will replace those 4 players...There will be 3-4 consistent players to do that again...Only fans of Federer & Nadal think it's finished but it's the beginning...I stopped watching after Federer retired but it never matters...

We know the big 3 but Andy was certainly part of the big 4. 3 Grand Slam titles, 8 final appearances (5 of those losing to Djokovic and 3 of those losing to Federer) and 10 semi-final appearances (5 of those are loses to Nadal, 2 to Djokovic and 1 to Federer). He was a true challenger to the big 3 and it has been an honour to watch him all these years.

@@misevibreHe never turned the dial enough mentally and lagged behind physically the other 3. Not by much, but not enough. We saw Novak turn in up, but Murray always felt like he accepted being Mr.4 unlike Novak who decided to load his arsenal instead of kinda accepting the top to with the other two until Novak wanted to be the top guy not a bridesmaid. Not that he didn't give it a stronger push ever, he just never developed that kill. Federer politely killed you with his effortless cuts, Nadal beat you to death, and Novak intimidated you to death. Murray never developed completely his menacing killer way which is unfortunate then the injury to about the worst place your hip when the stars were aligning for a moment.

He always had the courage to deeply care, never shrugging a loss off as “ it didn’t mean that much “ it’s precisely because it meant the world to him that he sometimes crumbled or at very least prevented him from achieving that first Wimbledon. He created through hard hard work two more opportunities for which he won plus the Open win . Great human being , open , honest I see so much love btw Andy and his mom. Profoundly emotional experience. There is always unconditional love surrounding him and supporting him whether he knows it or not. It's something he has always had and something he will have for the rest of his life. He's never had to work for it. It's always cheered for him in life even in the moments when there was uncertainty about whether he would be continuing on. It truly has been unconditional love for him, and it always will be. I have no doubt he is emotionally exhausted from this. It's been a rough time with lots of opinions flooding in about every single one of his choices. I hope he has space to breathe now. I am his forever fan, and that will never change.

Love Andy. A friend of mine knows a doctor who is a resident doctor at one of the grand slams. He disclosed to my friend privately about 6 years ago that he was astonished that Andy was still playing, even then, considering all the issues he knew were going on in his body. And it's only now that unfortunately, he has to call it a day. Without all those injuries I think he could have been more on par with Nadal, Djokovic and Federer. But he was never far from them even still, and on his day he could, and did, beat all of them. I feel privileged to have watched all these guys, definitely the end of an era, and in all honesty no one at the moment really interests me. Waiting for the next golden generation of tennis! Maybe that'll be Murray, Federer, Nadal and Djokovic's children!!

Brits have short memory since they labeled Andy "Scottish" when he was used to lose and suddenly he became British when he was victorious. Kudos instead to Murray because if it weren't for the Big 3,along with Stan The Man he would have won many many more Grand Slam titles. It's pretty incredible that in a 20 years time span, 66 were won by Nole/Rafa/Roger and Andy/Stan were able to steal 5 combined. And even more kudos to the will and capability of getting back to professional tennis played after the injury and surgery. Great great respect.
