Andy Serkis makes Edward's wish come true

10 жыл бұрынEdward is 10 from Huddersfield and is living with Cystic Fibrosis. Edward loves the Hobbit and the Lord of the Rings. His greatest wish was to meet Andy Serkis the actor who plays his favourite character Gollum in the films.
In January 2014 Edward's greatest wish came true. Edward was taken to Imaginarium Studios in Ealing where Andy Serkis was waiting to greet them.
Andy then spent more than two hours with Edward and his sister Elizabeth explaining how the studio works and demonstrating performance capture, animation and visual effects. Edward even got the chance to enjoy a hilarious role play with Gollum himself.

I agree wit 1mcpom1, Andy Serkis is a great actor, but there is monumentally more effort put into translating his performance in the VFX dept, and I've never seen any of them on TV giving interviews about it.

Andy Serkis is a human too good to be true. Kind, genuine, polite, modest yet a superb actor and a genius behind the scenes of some great movies. It's a shame he doesn't receive the right amount of appreciation he deserves.

You can tell that this wasn't just a photo op for him, but he had fun with the kids and enjoyed his time with them. Glad there are famous people like that in cinema still.

I'm also a guy who has cystic fibrosis. When I saw Edward's smile when he met Andy, this was a beautiful moment. He will cherish this moment forever! Does he have 2 bad Delta-genes or 1 and a mutation? I myself have reached the age of 40 and I hope that Edward can also grow as old as me. I still have my original lungs but my lung capacity is down to 47%. Never give up fighting Edward and enjoy every day!!! Make your dreams come true!!! Don't let anyone get you down.

TOPCyber When people think about angels they mostly think about the misrepresented angels with wings. When I do think about them I think about very strong people who despite could throw everything away and give up they fight and even help for the others when they themselves wearing all the weight.. You are one of them in my eyes.

Krisztian Bari Thanks man. Once again I had to go to hospital for 2 weeks. I had a bilateral pneumonia. I was also informed that I also have a resistant bacteria living inside my lungs. So every time I have to go to hospital for treatment, I will have to stay in isolation. But I keep fighting!

TOPCyber I have pretty nasty asthma and got a double whammy of pneumonia on top of influenza a couple of years ago... was in hospital for about 10 days. I cannot even begin to imagine dealing with that whilst living with cystic fibrosis. Love and blessings to you dear heart!

Hey pal I'm a best friend of ed and I can promise I'm going to pass this onto him were both 17 now and were both living life as best as we can and I couldnt of asked for a better best friend and his condition definitely hasn't held him back in life

This made me laugh but also made me teary-eyed because it's so beautiful seeing that there are famous people who are also humble and genuine people. Andy Serkis is an AWESOME actor, and Gollum is an awesome character!
