Amazingly describes the sacrificial love that Christ wants us to show to our mate.

This is the first time I heard him speak, thank you Andy for being such a strong instrument for God. This is so true! This definitely is not easy, because "I" does have to get out of the way.

OMG! I just found this today and you are awesome Andy Stanley!... Thank you for pointing out that, every man sees what the wives should be doing and totally neglects what the husband is suppose to be doing. Even non-Christian men KNOW that wives are suppose to submit! I am not a doormat and that is what it often feels like, when the husband neglects his part

That's why it's so important to fall in love with someone who also like Christ. If they are a wolf in sheep cloth, you'll have to be self-centered to survive them. That is not your calling. You deserve someone who "takes turns" and shares. Not some overgrown bully tyrant who takes all and gives nothing.

The bit about couples submitting to each other, I know so many gay and lesbian couples that do just that. It's interesting to think about.

Really helpful sermon. Thank you Andy. I just have two points of constructive criticism : 1. It's not helpful or correct to say everyone desires and needs to be in a relationship. Some people are called to celibacy and it's better to be celibate for God's service according to Paul. 2. This one is more of a question: is it really correct to say that Jesus gives up his glory in dying for us? The Bible says he was glorious in that moment.

quontus7 I think he’s referring to earthly glory. Christ’s glory was revealed in his death, burial, and resurrection from a spiritual perspective. However, from strictly an earthly view, he was mocked, spit on, beaten, and crucified like a lowly criminal in the Jewish culture. I think that’s what Andy is referring to.

2:02 That's creepy as fuck. Not necessarily that he felt that way, but how he thinks that an audience of thousands will relate to how he fell in love with his beautiful cousin, and how he loved to look at her.

I don't know what Andy's marriage is like, but I hope he learnt from his father's mistakes...... there is nothing I hate more than a preacher that preach something he doesn't do not that Andy is one of those preachers, I don't know ANYTHING about him.
@leonscott5438 жыл бұрын
IT is literally impossible to preach and not be a sinner. Whats important is that the preacher is transparent in what he is struggling through with his fellow leaders and with the congregation. Just as pastors expect the church to be transparent and to share their testimony, pastors should do the same
