Meeting GS Adventure Friends in Hereford...

Күн бұрынDave and I go the long way round from Birmingham to Hereford via Bristol, across the Severn Bridge and up through Wales to a great campsite on the River Wye, a burger from the local Hereford cows.
The usual campfire banter and some nice roads...and Dave explains how he's dropped his bike already.

Great vid Andy. Was lovely to see you guys, albeit briefly. Looks like you had a wetter ride home than us, as we got lucky in the Cotswolds, after Hereford. Let’s arrange to hook up for a weekend ride out soon!

Dave must be the only bloke in the world that thinks his Hilleberg is somewhat 'lacking' in quality.... :-) Good job you didn't turn up on the MG then ... I doubt you'd have been allowed on the camp site :-) Glueing bits of plastic back on? Like that was ever going to work for you Dave...looking forward to the next video!

Great vid……I have a Rallye GS also and nowI think I have the same jacket..Klim Carlsbad? Fortunately I haven’t been caught in any heavy rain yet…..how did yours hold up..keep you dry?

@@andybcole ahhh didn’t realize the latitude had the same venting system and fold back collar etc… same new grey colour had me confused…good that the vent zips didn’t leak though… cheers👍

Hi Andy. I see you have the shed extension for your MSR tent. Can you tell me what you think of it? I’m thinking of getting one but wonder whether the benefits outweigh the disadvantages of extra weight and faff of erecting it etc?

It’s alright, good if you are somewhere for more than one night or it’s raining. Takes a bit of getting used to on set up otherwise it pools. Weight is minimal so you don’t really notice it extra in the pack. Hope that helps!

Not us but by coincidence we will be there this Sunday (briefly) as it's on our route back from Snowdonia :-)

@@andybcole I was up for BSB at Oulton and we went to Ponderosa first. There was a GS that was spec’d like Dave’s. Just seen at end of last vid you mention about Snowdonia so wasn’t sure when. We are visiting the Bikers Campsite end of month to try the Suzuki shack or Honda Hut. Looking forward to some nice twisty roads, although as will be on my S1000rr, will make sure that the BMW connected app doesn’t pick too twisty roads 😁. Look forward to the vid of snowdonia P.S. Watching Dave makes me feel good about myself as finally found someone that wastes more money on bikes than me👍

Can't really fault it, didn't mist in the rain coming back, comfortable fit, light and I like the sun visor mechanism. Dave's Airoh Commander is similar, the only real difference between the two is the Airoh has slightly more aggressive styling and comes with a GoPro mount for the top of the helmet, whereas the Nolan has a detachable chinguard so it can be worn as an open face in really hot weather around town. Both good helmets and similarly prices (I think the Nolan is £20-£30 cheaper).

@@Mtbjitsu May do, not a massive fan of doing reviews as it just gets people having a go at you and I'm not an expert so will probably get things wrong and have 1,000 people telling me so! I can recommend it though from the 500 miles on it so far, kept me bone dry in lashing rain for 100 miles and is comfortable and light.

@@andybcole I'd value your input. You ride the same bike as me with what appears to be a similar style. I also commute on mine. I had a laminate goretex suit before and loved it, unfortunately a nurse cut it off with a shears. I bought a rst suit after but I'd prefer not to have a separate waterproof liner. When it's warm it's like wearing a plastic bag. I'd like a jacket that does 4 seasons and I like the destination liner idea. I enjoy your videos, ride safe and regards to Dave.
