Mine is a tad older than yours :-p 2012! Still have 99% SOC when fully charged. It might do, haven't tried any dual carriage way driving since I picked it up. A upgraded battery to say 100 miles would be amazing in the Twizy.

What happens when the battery lease/warranty period runs out on the older Twizys? I'm hoping to be able to pick one up that needs a new battery for sensible money (they hold their value SO well here it seems) to try and do a longer range battery, in a few years. Not economical to do it at the moment for my use.

no car is without emissions especial those required to make and mine the components of the battery however i see the point of it not making co2 emissions one issue though from these vids it seems like you have to worry about charge often i would hate that we need a new battery tech to make this what people think it will be

Yeah true, the best thing really is to make sure you have enough energy density in the battery to cover any journey you want, the twizy has 6kWh but really needs 12kWh at least.

It gets really hot inside because you get zero wind in the driver seat :(.

Yes they hold their value very well and will likely be a collectors item soon as it was one of the first EVs. You definitely wouldn’t want to decrease the top speed ;-) yes been thinking lots about this. 60V isn’t that high and it’s possible to build another pack that would fit in the car somewhere but the only issue is getting it to work properly with the BMS and systems inside the car.

Yeah I know what you mean, my twizy will do 65mph with the powerbox that I have (basically it increases power and torque to allow the car past it’s normal 50mph limit) I recently did a motorway run and yeah you don’t want to be going a lot slower than 60mph really because of the lorries you mention. The cool thing with electric is that if you sit behind a lorry you are completely shielded by the wind so you use hardly any energy to maintain speed. You should buy a camper with no engine and make it electric, there are places that will do the conversion now!

Not really. Most people look, wave and give way to you. I do drive mine like a bit of a hooligan though normally!!! it will beat anything at the traffic lights 0-30mph in sport mode and go around roundabouts like a go kart, especially in this weather when the roads are sticky!

That comment is wrong on so many levels.... "the big crash is coming" don't know what you're talking about "they are too expensive" somewhat true, but they're still getting cheaper while ICE cars are getting more expensive "low range" you're not serious, are you? "have no soul" neither do 90% of the cars that normal people drive to work and the supermarket "catch fire" EVs catch fire less often then ICE cars, although when on fire, yes, they're more difficult to extinguish "depreciate so quick, you end up losing loads of money" show me a car, ANY normal car, that has a different financial picture
