A few weeks ago I was sitting by my fathers bed, holding his hand, while this song was playing. I felt so close to him, really connecting for the first time in many years of not even visiting each other. He was diagnosed with liver cancer in December and died a month later. This song was released right at a time where I was struggling with depression, trying to get through being in University online, isolated from loved ones, just feeling totally hopeless about the future and overwhelmed by the metaphorical grey veil that seems to hang over those of us with depression, tinting all of our days to be rainy ones. For days on end I had the feeling in my chest of needing to cry but it wouldn't come out, but when this song came out, I was finally able to cry and release it all. This song will always make me cry and I'm so thankful for that catharsis. Your voice is so tender, Ane, and I'm sure everyone who hears this song will feel like you are personally speaking to them, supporting them, cheering them on. Thank you for always writing from the heart. You are such a beautiful human.
