To have found God and still to pursue Him is a paradox of love, scorned indeed by the too-easily-satisfied religious person, but justified in happy experience by the children of the burning heart. Saint Bernard of Clairvaux stated this holy paradox in a musical four-line poem that will be instantly understood by every worshipping soul:
We taste Thee, O Thou Living Bread,
And long to feast upon Thee still:
We drink of Thee, the Fountainhead
And thirst our souls from Thee to fill.
Come near to the holy men and women of the past and you will soon feel the heat of their desire after God. Let A. W. Tozer’s pursuit of God spur you also into a genuine hunger and thirst to truly know God.

I have all my life tried to get approval from people. I began to get tired of it all. Just a strange place. When I came upon this and started listening I knew why the change within me grew tired of all the striving and seeing too much hypocrisy in myself and others. My home and love is with God. I thank God for showing me answers for my questions .. God is my all in all..

I agree. I don’t have the appetites I used to have. I don’t watch television, I don’t listen to secular music. I listen to sermons, worship music, pray, meditate on God’s word. Jesus is all. The world is mad, but He has overcome the world! This is not our home.

At 56 years of age I have never been brought to a place of being broken apart like chapter 2 of this book. Not by Agustine or Calvin or Luther or Sproul have I ever been brought to my knees with truth and wisdom of how bad I had become. I had to stop and take an hour to let that chapter really take hold, This is what everyone needs to hear. Thank you Mr. Tozer for this Heart changing moment 😪

I have read A.W. Tozer’s The Pursuit of God about 5 times in the last two years and keep coming back to it. It is the best book I’ve ever read on how to draw near to God. Narrow is the way indeed. His prayer at the end of chapter 1 is my prayer also. Just found this narrated version. The Pursuit of God is a great commentary and wake up call to a believer like myself

Andrew Murray's books Humility and Like Christ and Absolute Surrender are the keys to the narrow path and dying to self. May our heavenly Father bless you and keep you. 🙏❤🙏

Wonderful truths that keep my mind focused on God and what He requires of me. This is not taught in churches. I know. I was a church minister of music for 30 years....worked me to death with the multitude of activities. I was exhausted all the time. Now I am no longer a minister of music, my life is slower and i am building a strong relationship with my Heavenly Father. By the way, i have listened to this audio book twice and plan to listen the third time. Satan likes to steal the truths i've learned so i must keep then clear in my mind.

Unsure of the churches you've attended but Real life with Jack Hibbs in His services recommended this books as many others. I am thankful it's audio as my eye surgery is not till late next month. Praise the Lord. It's been a while since I could read. Cataract surgery is welcome.

How did I find out about tozer?..God first led me to “ the saints must walk alone ” I had been praying bc even though I had been to many churches I was left dismayed and at times to the point of tears wondering why did I feel like a foreigner amongst them and that when I witnessed to and attested to the things God has done in my life it was as if I was speaking a language they just could not understand.. they couldn’t relate.. I know why now, bc God revealed.Thankyou father I have peace .. i give all the glory blessings,praises and honor to God alone for this his vessel for the vessels obedience to God and willingness to sit with God so that even today this his vessel still speaks those dry dead bones God commands even today to speak to us, attest to us, and witness to us the profoundness of God and his truths.. i grew up without a father I now have the best father ever . I love him and he loves me .. my Heavenly Father .. Thankyou Jesus. I absolutely love how God so moved tozers heart so proundly that he put at the end of each chapter a prayer to guide our own hearts.. How Good is our God! He fulfills our every need!

I cant even explain how much this book has spoken to me. I just listened to the full thing in one sitting, taking notes. I could not turn it off. My entire life I’ve felt like I did not fit in in the world. Sometimes wishing God would let me leave it. Tormented by the thought of having to wait another 40-50 years until I went to His kingdom. Now I see I truly am not of this world as I am made in His image and He and His kingdom are all around me. What a sweet spring for a thirsty Christian.

Please have more AW Tozer books on KZfaq so more people can experience a revival in their lives. I read the book and marked my favorite passages as it was played. I seem to get a better or deeper understanding of how God is in my life and has drawn me closer as I read and reread books of AWTozer. Please make the Tozer book “The Purpose of God” available....it is an awesome study book for the true Christian.

I listen and read the book at the same time, taking time to stop and pray. The calm and encouraging voice of God carries me forward out of discouragement and fear of the future. It takes time and determination amidst the calls and commitments of "all else".

I love this book. I came to learn about this book from a certain book i read some months back titled "He came to set the captives free" by Rebecca Brown. The excerpt from "The pursuit of God" which was used in that book was what got hold of me and i had promised myself that i would find time to read this book. Its been nothing short of peace and increasing yearning for God since i started listening to the book and i am glad i was given the grace to finish it. I feel so blessed,peaceful and mostly thankful for God's direction. May God bless you all

Oh, the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable are His judgments and unfathomable His ways! Romans 11:33 So we, though many, are one body in Christ, and individually members one of another. A prayer expressing that you believe the true gospel of Christ: Lord Jesus, I have admitted I'm a sinner being sorry. I’m thankful to hear my own perceptions of my Lord Gods word in Tozers (Lewis, Macdonald & others) books. My favorite book is basic instruction before leaving earth (Bible). It’s not always easy to know if I’m “leaning on my own understanding”. I do try to examine my heart, test my actions & guard my heart. I pray for the strength to persevere unto the end

I have been converting to Orthodox Christianity and come from various Protestant backgrounds. I've been getting into AW Tozer lately and listening to his sermons. What really surprises me is how in line with Orthodoxy this book is.

The main claim of the Orthodox seems to be apostlic succession, the sacrements, and preservation of the original faith. God surely saves who He desires, and it is the claim that ONLY orthodox are saved that I can't abide. I also can't accept some cultural baggage that seems to come with it in practice. However, I think orthodox have the most accurate theology in their vast repository of knowledge.

What a wonderful book, a classic an deservedly so, and this is a superb narration of it. I've read it myself in the past, but was able to get even more out of this audio version because Mark Christensen does a much better job of reading it than I do! Thank you for this upload.
