What a player... my God. He made the french defense in the World Cup final look like some school kids. He is the closest thing I've seen to Zidane in terms of grace and dribbling. If he could have played the full 90 minutes, France would have never equalized. The second he came out, Argentina forgot how to play. They would have won the 2014 final as well had he played vs Germany. Most underrated player.

It´s not as you said. France has a physically very imposing team (probably given the ancestry of most of his players, this is expected). DiMaría is not young anymore and can´t stand 90mins at that level of effort (nor does Messi, nor Otamendi, no anybody around 35). The rest of the players are also less strong than the French. Skill-wise, Argentina was by far a better team, but France has a very physical team, and after a whole cup, being tired is a problem. So Argentina dominated the match easily till they run out of energy. It was the same against the Dutch. We play better football, but they have stronger players.

I was 5 years old. I remember me and my brothers woke up at 5-6 am to watch the olympic final (Argentina - Nigeria, I am argentinian). From that day, I became a Di Maria fan. For me, Di Maria is the decisive one, at least in the national team. If born in a different time, he would have been the player of the generation. However, we are very lucky to have this two beasts (Messi and Di Maria) sharing the stage.

he is 35, had a complicated career due to recurrent injury and is not precisely imposing physically (his nickname is "noodle" for some reason). How can he play 90mins against a team of guys so strong as the French. Argentina was at disadvantage physically during the match. But thankfully our players are just more skilled than the French.

the thing about him which is so spectacular is that he is extremely adaptive to most of the tactics and formation and knows how to get the best out of that. his ankle braker against puyol still is one of the most devistating skill I've seen ever. Period !

Underrated only by those who do not appreciate football but Huge Respect by fellow players, coaches and fans who know the game. Posting in summer 2022 if Argentina is to win the World Cup it will be based around MESSI and a huge support role for him will be DI MARIA. I would go as far as to say the 2 of them will decide the Albiceleste fate, and yea TEAM is most important but these are your 2 Key Players. Angel, Wonderful Football Player.

In Argentina, for years he was being dismissed as stupid, running the entire field just to make a wrong pass. But he redeemed himself in the final against Brazil and forced people to reconsider their prejudices. Then he followed that up with great performances after great performances since then. He is not underrated anymore, his place in history is set.

Di Maria really is a wonderful footballer and his legacy will remain for both club and country. I would only have one criticism for his national team and that would be that at times he has been selfish when he could have passed. I remember thinking this in many games. That being said, I am being bias as I am a Messi fan and there are lots of times I would he would have passed to Messi as he was in an excellent position. Anyway, fantastic video as always!

@@audie-cashstack-uk4881 oh shutup , messi is arguably the greatest playmaker of all time , you are calling him selfish, maradona's time defending was utter shit, there were no tactics other than hack players, those kinds of tactics are poor as if you play as a team you can get around them , messi has to deal with well organized defenses which barely allow individuals to shine but messi still produced moments of magic which nobody in this era consistently does , even the defenders in lower leagues have more physical ability than those international defenders of maradona's times so please rest with comparison between two different eras, maradona was great for his time and so is messi for today, both have different problems to face, maradona argentina played like a team which messi's didn't but only recently , this wc argentina is poor in terms of individual but they have a proper team which is more important to win anything which is what maradona had.

To me he was the best overall Argentinian player in the 2018 World Cup. The fact that he is so underrated is down to lack of objective and balanced journalism. He has got an endless back of tricks plus explosive speed with the ball tied to his shoelaces. You cannot help but admire poetry in motion...... just like the great Zidane. Nuff respect.

This man redefined dribbling. 99% of the. time opponents did not have an answer for DiMaria. At times he eclipsed the GOAT in some matches with his performance but what a way to end his international career with the trophy he most deserves. what a player!

Speed, passing, crossing, long shots, free-kicks, creativity, dribbling and technique. Di Maria has all. Perfect attacking midfielder and winger. I'm glad he played for Man Utd he did well there. Argentina phenomenon. Him & Messi are great representations of quality footballers with a lot of talent. Possibly the fastest soccer player I've ever seen. One of the few ones who's scored from a corner and his ball control is very good. Don't really know what the goalkeeper is doing at 4:23 terrible rushing out. Open goal opportunity. Very accurate finishes and assists. Truly spectacular skills and fast paced action. Any chance on getting the song name? It's epic.
