Oh my goodness Ryan and Mirai community HELLO. I've been missing you, as I've been distracted as life has been zooming bye. Much love and appreciation to the vision, wisdom and boundless beauty of Mirai. Ode to the trees, the growers, sculpture and our many wild ways.

Don't be afraid to try to save a broken boxwood branch. I have a really awesome green mountain that I turned oak-inspired, and one of the branches broke 3/4 in half. It was a very important branch so I bent it back until it met up again, and taped it closed with scotch tape. It's doing very well.

This is the coolest/boxwood bonsai I’ve ever seen. Literally. Especially if you’re really trying to create what full grown trees look like, in nature. I’ve been to the angel oak, in SC. This tree is well on its way to replicating it. I’d also just like to say that I think boxwoods are almost the only species you could use for these oak styles. Or the most convincing I guess I could say. Great work Mirai!!

I've been talking about this for several years now! I wanted to create an Angel Oak Bonsai for years. I mean come on! This is awesome! I even have a painting of this tree. I travel down to John's Island, South Carolina every year on vacation. That oak tree is a beast. I just love everything about Charleston, South Carolina. Thank you, Ryan.🎉

Next aspiration for Ryan or anybody else out there: to make a bonsai version of the top 10 world's oldest trees. I believe the oldest is a bristlecone pine named Methuselah and it is said to be 4,853 years old. If I could only bonsai replicate one of them, boy would I be proud. Keep on dreamin y'all! Create and stay beautiful! And you know how some people say chef's kiss? Well, you know, since it's Ryan, let's say "Ryan's Kiss ".

I see you have a new look Ryan! Its cool! I may only be a teen right now, but I'm growing some live oak seedlings and plant to style them like that classic old isolated oak appearance! I use clip and grow for my bonsai, but I might use wire for certain bonsai for the future.

We have an ancient yellow wood near where we live with trunks that are bowed down and which have developed root systems of their own. It’s very interesting to see that characteristic displayed in a bonsai.

I have been working a few Kingsville Boxwood inspired by the old Live Oaks here in Texas. Great to have that concept verified with this video. Mine are not quite ready to make a video about them yet, not just 'cuz they aren't large field grown stock trees... more because I am working out a few growth and training steps that will help get a younger boxwood into a more upward state first before training. Great video demo!
