Have you seen Moonlight with Alex O’Loughlin as the lead? That’s a good vampire show. It’s only got one season (16 eps) though as it was made in 2007 and was hit from the writer’s strike. Remember watching that live hoping it would be picked up for a second season, but nope. TVD and TO are fun but I have to say I enjoy Moonlight more. The lore, characters and writing of Buffy and Angel are something else though: they’re just in another tier.

I recommend interview with a vampire with Brad Pitt and Tom Cruise and Queen of the Damned with Aaliyah (haven’t seen that one).

Ironclaw XII I believe there was more to it than just the writing and preparation. Joss was also trying to look after his staff. The actors, writers and all the other personnel who worked on the show really needed to know if they had a job the following year or if they should be auditioning for new parts. Joss wanted some semblance of stability for everyone (himself included) as to whether they were going to collect a paycheck or not. The executive you said, "fine, you're cancelled," was a dick of the highest order. More concerned about his own ego than either the welfare of his subordinates or doing a good job for the network. Pretty sure Joss is on record as saying that everyone involved at the time were later sacked themselves, so there's some karma in that.

Well it was like that for me with Buffy when I was in high school. When Buffy started they were sophomores in high school and outcasts, as was I. I was an awkward quiet lonely dude who had no friends so the idea of teens like that working to help a superhero, a female one at that, to fight monsters was unprecedented and awesome to me at the time. The only other shows I really watched at the time was X Files, Millenium, and Xena, but as we all know Buffy changed the face of tv with introducing season long arcs and big bads. I actually didnt think the show would last cuz I thought that numerous seasons of the master yelling "curses foiled again!" At the end of each episode would get old to people even though I loved it. So imagine my surprise when Buffy actually killed him in the first season finale. Lol long story short I did eventually come out of my shell, made some friends and life got better for me.

Yeah days of the wb channel and Randy Moss in his prime, plus Lennox Lewis was still boxing. Also HBO was channel 15 damn going to memory lane.

Exactly! For me the Buffy verse (interconnected series with crossovers) kind of paved the way for the Arrow verse. Buffy and Angel/Flash and Arrow are pretty similar. Flash and Arrow even use the term big bads. Legends of tomorrow is slightly like Firefly and they even did there own Out of Gas type episode. But its Marvel Netlfix that started with Drew Goddard who worked on Buffy and Angel. Shit keeps getting better, and its informed by shit that came before it. This shit is great.

makes a lot of sense, Willow "activating" all the potentional slayers at the very least ONE would have to show up to such a chaotic situation. THey are now basically everywhere, or at least like, one in every major area. Granted they do group up and whatnot, which was the plot meant for Buffy Season 8 (humorously, Angel poses as "Twilight" the decieving leader to get different evil factions-one thinks the slayers shouldn't exist, think another was like a group of uprising monsters almost like a legion of doom to work together so Buffy would have to fight less things separately). That said, it was still silly and stupid not to renew Angel for another season when ratings were up and might've just gotten better, especially if they'd done another full on crossover and maybe even renewed both shows into one "Buffy and Angel."

Buffy in the comics after the show actually mentions Twilight. The villain for the first arc of the comic named himself that a year or so before the Twilight books came out, and Buffy, on hearing that name, says "my vampire was better."

Simple Wb was full of shit! The ratings were up but Wb didnt want to renew it because they were to cheap

There should've at least been one more season...ending it at random without an actual ending, which at least buffy got (even though comics were written to explore enough material to get to season 10 apparently-I kinda forgot after the season 8 story which I would've loved live-action). They could've at least given them a TV movie to finish it off.

For me, it was Buffy, but I do like Angel's theme song. But after that, the only show I gave a chance was Veronica Mars...and I just gave up and went to watch some light heart romantic Korean drama. But I think the fans of Buffy are so deep; I've never see any show fans discuss Buffy/Angel characters as in depth as any other TV show fandom.
