@@javiruiz8365 That’s because unfortunately the media pay way too much attention to people who shouldn’t matter. The way they report things makes us unconsciously think that these people they hype up about are more important. There are numerous famous people who’ve made great contributions to the arts, society, sports etc who are still alive but keep it quiet instead of constantly keeping themselves in the limelight to gain attention of relevant they are.

Angela, you did an unbelievable job in telling Tina’s story and she knew that more than anyone. Using your own god-given talents, you helped her get through to other women around the world trapped in abusive relationships…telling them that there is a way out, that they can take back their identities in style and become bullet-proof badasses in any walk of life….that’s Tina’s crowning achievement and you played a huge part in getting that out into the stratosphere.

I was 14 years old when she made her comeback . Her inner strength was so amazing and powerful it even struck me as white 14 year old boy from NJ . I grew up in a abusive home I moved out at 16 and never looked back . Her life inspired me to get out when I didn’t think I had any hope or future. I went on to build a great life for myself and my family. Tina definitely had a hand in turning my life around . Every time I thought things were to tough I’d think of Tina or listen to her music it always pushed me through the tough times. I am from the Philippines, and when I was 5 years old, my parents introduced me to music they love to listen to. This was circa 69, we listened to the Platters, the Cascades, the Beatles, the Rolling Stones, Sinatra, Sammy Davis Jr. Pat Boone, Matt Monroe, Tony Bennett and much more artists in the 50s 60s. And of course they listened to Ike and Tina. (This was when you have a stereo system that played long playing vinyl albums and 45s). I loved Tina... and mimicked her singing Proud Mary, and at one point I danced Proud Mary in one of my kindergartens school program. My admiration and my love for her music back then even made me change how I introduce my name to friends and family much to my parents laughter. I would say to whoever would listen, " Hello, my name is Tina Turner!". My family and friends would look at me smiling. This went on for sometime. Ms. Turner is my childhood, a lot of memories. So yes early on, I am channelling my inner Tina Turner. You are a blessing Ms. Turner. You will be missed greatly, especially this 5 year old that adored you early on. Thank you for your magnificent existence.

A life well lived and a story for us all. My mother went through an abusive relationship. While it wasn’t as physically brutal as Tina’s more so mental abuse, as a then child, it was rough to witness. I’m amazed at the strength for Tina because in many ways, my mother saw the similarities and had this crazy strength in her as well to get away from this situation. While my mother has gone on to be with the Lord, I am thankful for Tina in sharing this dark part of her life to shine a light for so many others. Ridiculous that they only inducted her as a solo artist at 81! This should have happened in the 80's/90's already! Always the icon. Always the legend. RIP 👑

When an actress or actor does not resemble any physical characteristics of whom they are portraying and makes you see the essence of the person through their performance as Angela Bassett did portraying Tina Turner, then you KNOW they are the real deal and although her peers cannot give her her flowers in accolades, we as her fans can just as the great queen of rock n roll did those many years ago when she chose Ms. Bassett to portray her-#RIPTinaTurner

@@Elly3981Me too lol, ppl will always have different perspectives 😅 I hope those words were said strictly in the context of Angela and Tina and not from other politics mumbo jumbo Angela definitely made me do double and triple takes, and it all felt too real, not like a movie at all. I'm so glad my mother let me watch that film early, so I had a full understanding of what my Grandpa meant when he said "Don't let no boy sell you a wooden nickel". Whew. Angela and Tina saved me.

TT was raised Baptist, Turner embraced Buddhism whole-heartedly in middle age and said its teachings changed her life. “I came to understand that any achievement stems from inner change and only you have the power to realize and change,” she told Harvard Business Review. “The more I studied Buddhist principles, the deeper I dug within myself and cleaned up whatever attitudes or habits were standing in my way.” Simply the best ~ better than all the rest "

Excellent segment. Thank you so much. Tina freed herself and empowered so many to stand w/ their truths and move forward against any adversity. We were blessed to be in her existence. Angela has the same effect. There will come a day of recognition and award for her. Thank by supporting the remarkable people in our lives now before they leave us. They don't have to be singers or movie stars. Family & friends will do but if there is a quality gem that inspires the best in you & fails to be recognized then show some love.
