Maurice Duruflé (1902-1986) - Toccata from Suite opus 5 14:35
Angela Metzger performs the whole range of organ music. Recent invitations have included
the Varaždin Baroque Festival, the “orgel-mixturen” Cologne and works from composers
Moritz Eggert, Dominik Susteck and Mark Andre. She has played in Egypt, Israel, in the
Philharmonie Essen, the Musashino Hall Tokyo, the Opera House Muscat and with the
Gürzenich-Orchester in the Cologne Philharmonic and the Elbphilharmonie Hamburg. She is
a prizewinner of many organ competitions and the ARD Competition. Angela has been
awarded the Bayernwerk Cultural Award and the “Bayerischer Kunstförderpreis”. She
studied church music and organ with Edgar Krapp and Bernhard Haas at the University of
Music in Munich. During the winter semester 2017/18, she taught as a substitute for
Bernhard Haas. CD recordings are available on the labels rondeau, Solo Musica and Are-
Verlag.
