Angelina Jolie gets emotional talking to rape victims of Bosnian war

Angelina Jolie was brought to tears while talking to the rape victims of the Bosnian war, during her visit to Srebrenica. The Hollywood star's visit to the Bosnian town was to promote a campaign to end sexual violence against women in war. Angelina was joined by Foreign Secretary William Hague who will co-host a global conference with the actress in London in June, on preventing rape being used as a war tactic. The pair also laid flowers at a cemetery for Bosnian Muslim victims of the Srebrenica massacre, Europe's worst massacre since World War Two. More than 100,000 people were killed in the war and it is believed that around 20,000 women were raped. Report by Claire Lomas.

To the negative commenters: Who cares what you think her intentions really are? The most important thing is that she makes a difference. she is such an amazing, beautiful, talented, caring, kind hearted woman and mother. she is selfless and that's something we don't see everyday. she's really remarkable and humble. I look up to her, she's an icon in so many ways. she donates so much to so many charities and I think we need more people like her! if I was rich id want to be like her, but I live check to check so I try to do my part and donate to a few pet charities.. but I don't get how anyone can talk bad about her! she gives millions to people in need! just saying, everyone is entitled to their own opinion :)

If she'd honestly care about all people she'd go to Palestine or eastern Ukraine or even say something about victims in U.S and the racism and killing of minorities in it but she doesn't. Notice that these "benevolent Hollywood stars" always agree with the American government and act as if the lives of some civilian victims are more important than others depending on the military strategy of US at the time. I'm not surprised, if she honestly cared for ALL innocent children and women in the world and spoke truth about their suffering them she would probably get in trouble with the military/police and that's not the point of stunts like this, everything from the cape to the 15 fucking cameras that are filming her is about her career and her one-dimensional movie. does nobody have a problem with the use of the word "genocide" here? Like, I understand that Angelina and BBC or whatever want to make the war as one-sided as possible and pretend that Serbians just flipped for no good reason and started invading foreign country for the first time since the middle ages but don't people realise how fucking insensitive is the use of the word "genocide" to people like Jews and Roma who actually experienced the systematic destruction by nazis on a massive scale? I'm beyond horrified that Serbian paramilitary organizations expelled and murdered civilians during the war and I am glad that the Serbian people rebelled when they found out the truth and overthrew their goverment but it's fucking insane to call it genocide. Especially when Angelina and Heig pretend that killing women and children in Iraq/Afganistan/Palestine is no big deal or that the US/UK military actually calls them "bug splats" because that's what they look like on the ground.Victims of the Holocaust sure as hell don't deserve for their suffering to be used for emphasis of the theme of Angelina's shitty movie and the only point that she is making is that she thinks Bosnian muslims somehow deserve more sympathy than middle-eastern people that are being killed at the moment by her goverment.

aleks civic I know about the massive genocide of Serbian people (300 000 + civilians) during the WW2 by croatian (and bosnian muslim) faschists, I didn't want to point it out in that sentence so that it wouldn't sound like I think that it's an excuse for the thing Serbs did in the nineties. If anything, that just proves just how wrong it is to make a movie specifially about one group of people in one short period of a long war to make it seem straight forward and completely black and white. Yugoslavian wars were a complete shitstorm and if you're going to make a movie about one side that participated in it and present them as complete victims then you should expect to be criticized.

Muslim 60% Serbs 26-30% and Croat 10-14% and those are facts!!! By your argument one is led to believe serbs murdered themselves. An absolutely pathetic claim by you.
