I think expecting it to hit #1 is being a little ambitious. I would just be happy if it actually made the charts and the rest of the general public starts to hear her and know who she is. It will all have to do with promotion however. I think the music she released last year was all worthy of being hits and could give her the break out we’ve been hoping for but there was little to no promotion.

@@pjg58x Indeed I was feeling ambitious and very few people these days know when a song reaches #1 on any of the many charts. Just getting played often for more people to hear would be a huge step forward for Angelina.

@andyschnell58 True. The charts are so different these days. In the past it was based on singles sales and airplay of the singles. Today it’s a whole different world with streaming and online purchases. Every song from an album release can be streamed or downloaded individually so every song on a new Taylor Swift album for instance will probably hit the charts. Plus an older song might have a revival for a variety of reasons and get back on the charts. That leaves less room on for other songs and artists. Thats why promotion and exposure is the key. So if Angelina could actually get on the charts that would be a huge thing .

Wow, great that you got the okay from Toby! I worry about it hurting the release of the official studio version, but if Toby says it’s ok, I guess he knows what he’s doing! Same, I made a vow to myself not to listen to this very much so that I don't taint the experience because I can almost hear the complete version in my soul and it's going to be magnificent! But like said if Toby gave the green then we can't complain. But James your making this commitment very hard with this beautiful sounding video. I have watched and listened to this performance several times - and the thought that came to my mind was that the amazing vocal skills displayed on Bad Valentine took me back to the skills Angelina displayed at age 10 in her recording of I'm Still Holding Out For You - which could have been a number one hit had it been released. There is a certain, palpable, distinct feel to all of Angelina’s live stuff. It’s pretty unique compared to her produced recordings. IMO, they are both excellent and distinctive enough that they really won’t compete with each other. Look at Million Miles. Angelina’s live versions hold their own against her studio recordings…and vice versa. I don’t think the anticipated studio recording of Bad Valentine will suffer at all with this sneak-peek preview of what’s in store for us this summer.

difficult to achieve higher views on a channel with few subscribers. They can use tiktok videos or YT shorts to promote the songs few weeks before release date. That is how new songs are promoted in 2024. She needs to create a buzz for her 870K followers

@@delmamekenya5286 If channels that have More subscribers want to get the video in front of their subscribers, then they should release a community post promoting the video - that would be more effective than dropping a video on their page anyway in my opinion, because it focuses attention on a single subject. However, right now, this video really isn't even supposed to be out at all, but Toby eventually realized that the cat was out of the bag and decided to go ahead and let me publish it. This one is kind of an odd-ball in that respect. 😇Jim

Thanks, James (and Toby), for this version. Considering there already is a cellphone version out on TikTok and YT, I think this will just improve the impression it makes and I'm sure they'll monetize it. Also, I heard different lyrics in some places: In the middel of the first verse, "I had to hide when I saw you, On some table for two." The first line of the chorus sounds like "I thought I told you I'm one messed up girl."

This story is the complete opposite of, If l were boy ( which, l didn't care for the lyrics, but of course her performance was perfect) in this, she plays the rotten woman to a decent man, " Nice guys finish last" role...l really can't wait to hear it as a polished original.

😮😐Amazing. Thanks for getting this too us early and in a way we can feel good about. ❤ Not sure where you got the lyrics, I tried and ran them by an Angel or two. I changed most of my thoughts after. But it's much like this. Only difference is "I had to hide when I saw you, on some table for two." I was trying to fit "highway" in there too. And, they thought "mess up your heart", at the time, I think "mess up your head". As for why I'm so positive it's "head"? Keep an eye on that Oileco account that comments on her tiktok sometimes, with some kinda cute poetry sometimes. A day or two before, he/she mentioned how she told him she would mess his/her head. Then winked at her. 🤷‍♂️What do you figure? A bit out of character too, he (I'm thinking he) normally just hits on her as much as I do. Also, I think I hear that as well fairly clearly.
