Some people say she must be an old soul. Maybe that’s true, but what gets overlooked is the fact that small children experience more raw, overwhelming, and intense emotions than at pretty much any other time in their lives. Angelina gave a voice to these emotions, feelings that most people suppress and forget about. Then the tragedy occurs when adults dismiss the emotions of children as immature. For me, Angelina’s voice puts me in direct touch with my emotions in a way that makes me feel more connected to the rest of humanity.

I don't know if you've read it somewhere else yet, but the remaining members of Queen saw this performance. They were so impressed with it that they complimented Angelina highly on their Twitter account! Not only that, but they then GAVE her the copyright permission to this version (of which, yes, she was the creator)! Thank you for your support of our Barefoot Princess!

She actually got permission from Queen to copyright this version. It's on Spotify. Magical? Because she is a light in the world. She wrote a book on why she is always barefoot. She has gotten millions of dollars donated to good causes. She is like the Pied Piper trying to be and lead people in a positive direction. Her original '7th Heaven' reveals alot about her personality. I love your reactions! ❤️

Here are some things that make Angelina magical for me: She hit the physiological jackpot. The elements that influence how we speak and sing (i.e. larynx, pharynx, vocal folds, sinus cavities, facial bone structure, lungs) all came together in Angelina at birth in such a way that gives her the very unique vocal timbre she has. As she has grown, her timbre has become richer and richer. Next, her ears. I have never heard it confirmed whether or not she has absolute (perfect) pitch but, if she doesn’t, she has phenomenal relative pitch. Her ability to listen to other singers and musicians, pick up their tiniest musical characteristics and nuances, and incorporate them seamlessly into her vocal toolbox is astounding. Next, her brain. It is obvious that she is extremely intelligent, evidenced, in part, by the number of languages she speaks, instruments she plays and the way she communicates with people. Then there are the intangibles. Among them are the nurturing she has received since birth by her family, friends and people in “the business”, her world view due to her travels and interactions with people all over the globe, and her personal philosophy about life that guides her in everything she does. Angelina is a very unique and special person. It is her world. We just live in it!

Beautifully spoken. I have always thought that Angelina had a kind of cheat code that allows her to never sing off key, and that is her relaxed state of self-awareness. If she ever starts to sing a note slightly sharp or flat she is immediately aware of it and has the ability to slide almost imperceptibly into the correct note, resulting in a phrase sounding even better and jazzier than if she had just hit the note right off. Maybe it's intentional😜

It all begins with who Angelina is as a person. She is humble, almost to a fault, and filled with empathy. Her story of why she always performs barefoot provides proof. Angelina, no doubt, was born with an ear for music that very few are blessed with. I believe she digests every song she listens to and instantly has her own arrangement for it. Angelina, I think, completely embodies each song she sings and the music comes from her soul. She has the ability to convey that deep emotion to the listener. The podcast about how Angelina's music makes us feel, is properly named "Wrapped In a Warm Blanket" and I was honored to be a guest. Season One of the podcast was audio only and this year, Season Two includes video and is on KZfaq.

You asked about Angelina's magic . . . I just appeared on a podcast that will premiere soon in which we discussed that question for 40 minutes. In a nutshell, IMO, you are getting closer to an answer. Yes, Angelina is able to internalize the best musical influences and emote *_true emotions_* in her songs in a way others can't. She described her process this way in an interview: Interviewer: "When I see you on stage, who do you feel you become?" Angelina: "When I sing, I go to another world. In the world, it's like endless, full of happiness and I love ... it's amazing. When I'm on stage, I don't want to go. I just want to be on the stage." Angelina went on to say that it has always been that way for her. That implies that she was naturally blessed with this "wiring" that few if any others are. That in addition to her great voice, technique, hard work and musicality it has given us a once-in-a-lifetime vocal artist who can connect with her soul directly to your soul -- if you are open to it. Let me ask you . . . why do you think you were crying at the end of her song? I suggest that she took your soul on a gentle journey from the despair of her belt to the peace of that emotion being felt and resolved at the end (nothing really matters). In doing so, she let you know, in your soul, that it is safe and good to feel pent-up emotions -- so that you can let them go and move on in life without that "emotional baggage" weighing you down. Thus, as many describe it, one feels "wrapped in a warm blanket" when listening to an Angelina Jordan song. If you really want more answers you will probably want to listen to the "Wrapped in a Warm Blanket /Angelina Jordan podcasts at kzfaq.info/love/akc2QtPe7ztSlU929ndCEw

What has surprised me is that on occasion she has ended a very heartfelt emotional song, and immediately after the final note smiles, waves, and in her child's voice says goodbye. That instant transition is remarkable and somewhat mystifying.

Here is an example of what the magic is like: I've now listened to this song at least 1500 times and when you were fighting back the tears I was doing the same thing. Why? Not only because she just performed a MASTERPIECE but because I was so happy to see she touched your heart. Throw out the age factor, there is no one like her. Her soulfulness transitions into love when we hear her sing. One of her desires in life is to do what she can to make the world a better place to live for everyone and she understands that will be impossible unless we begin to love one another. In reality she is singing FOR US and most (if not all ) of us will attest to the fact we are better people because of her love in our hearts. So, the process has started and I believe there will be a day when everyone knows who Angelina Jordan is and she will play a leading role in making the world a better place to live for all. Magic? Reality, yes!

@@KieranSaighir Kieran, I know what you're saying and, to an extent, I feel the same way. Crying is a demonstrative way of showing our emotions. The reason you are not crying when you listen to her when you are by yourself is that your heart recognizes her voice and it warms to her soulful tones and it is a very pleasant experience. The tearing up and actual crying is for people who are just discovering her or for some of us who hear her sing something 'new' for the first time and we react. But, there is no question, her love is in your heart and that is such a beautiful thing.

When ANGELina was 3 y.o she saw Simon C. as judge in one of his shows, and she asked her mother; I wanna sing for him, can I? "Oh no, you're way too young" said her mother. Fast forward to 7 y.o. she attends NGT and blows us Norwegians away, and wins NGT. Excactly 10 after she first saw S,C, she gets a phone call from AGT champions. So careful what you wish for 😉 Heidi Klum gave her free ticket to the finals, and her second song was "Yellow Brick Road" by Elton John. Maybe an odd choice of song, but it became almost a poetic justice song, where it sounds like she's adresses the music industry. But AGT Champs was deffo a springboard further, and made her and her team land her a record deal, w a label that would help and allow her to be herself and take time to finnish school and do things more her own tempo.

She was born to sing, so she herself says. "I did not find music! Music found ME!!!" You can call her driven or obsessed. When the famous shoeless girl asked her what AJ wants to do (at age 6) she answered "I want to sing for the world." When she speaks to others, she chooses words, these people will understand. When you have a very high IQ, you have to be very patient with the dumb "normal" people. GRIN. I know for sure she has a high IQ, I met such people. I think there are four components and one mystery that contribute to Angelina's amazing artistry: 1) She has the anatomical structure that creates pleasing overtones; 2) She has a gift for mimicry, which allows her to quickly learn vocal effects and techniques; 3) She has a supportive family and a grandmother who encourages her art; 4) She focuses on her craft and works hard. The mystery of her art is how she's able to deliver an authentic emotional reading of a song, a skill also found in great actors. I'll recommend her cover of Billie Jean in her own arrangement as a great recent recording; for younger stuff, you HAVE to listen to I'm Still Holding Out For You, which was going to be a demo release for her but her family had some issues with the lyrical content. Keep bringing the great reactions, PC!

There is no reference tone I think: she just start a capella. So what is magical to me about her…. Let me start with an less obvious part being her personality: she performs bare foot to raise awareness for poor children and has done so for 10 years and has raised money for multiple charities. She is a genuinely, kind and caring person. With so many famous people lost in their egos that is really wonderful. When it comes to her art, the most magical part to me is her storytelling, her arrangements, her ability to convey emotions, throwing in her soul and this way touching mine. She does not seem to want to impress, which she could, but she is focused on her performance and her story telling. What I love is how she branches out and tries out a lot of styles, genres and artists and plays with her voice. She has an amazing version of ‘I’d rather go blind’ where she seems to be throwing in as much vocal fry as she possibly can. She has developed a very rich vocal toolbox and she is able to use it with great precision. She has had that for a long time. With her performance of ‘I’m a fool to want you’ on Norway got Talent, which she sang a capella, she keeps her pace and pitch perfectly throughout. With her performance of Bang Bang, also on NGT, she uses very little of her characteristic vibrato and shows she can turn that on and off. But she also keeps developing herself as you will notice if you come across her 2022 rendition of My Funny Valentine. You will have a lot of fun on the road ahead and be prepared to be surprised at every turn :-)

What makes Angelina unique? Wow, how do I keep this under 1,000 words? At the core, she is the best interpreter of lyrics I’ve ever heard-period. That comes through in everything she sings. Secondly, her voice is unique and immediately recognizable for multiple reasons-her tone, her rasp, her rich lower register, the many vocal textures, and her innate musicality that guides her to never overuse that bottomless vocal toolkit she can open so effortlessly. Also, you’ve heard three songs all in a jazzy/bluesy vein. That’s in her bones, but her ability to kill songs in so many other genres will stun you. Her voice can be mesmerizing like today, or upbeat, but listening to Angelina give us soul and melancholic ballads will bring you to tears-again. There are so many recommendations, but two that show her differently from what you’ve heard: A Million Years Ago is an Adele cover when she was 12 that no one, including Adele (whom I love), ever needs to sing again. And at some point, you will watch her impromptu cover of the Etta James classic, I’d Rather Go Blind. It’s Angelina having some fun, but giving us jaw-dropping 1960’s soul that other singers would never even attempt. She’s 12 for that one too, sitting on her sofa with just her mic and a musical track, leaving you speechless.

Understanding Angelina's "magic"? It is the nature of the human mind to analyze and compare experiences; to strive to find the right words to describe and characterize. There are many words that can be used to describe Angelina's unique vocal qualities.: the rich, full, smokey sound; the incredible range; the control; the amazing vibrato; the intelligence that informs her phrasings and note choices; and on and on... But these are not what make me cry (often) when hearing Angelina sing. When we speak of magic, it's because we realize that words are not enough to adequately describe what's going on here. What makes me cry is not that i am feeling any particular emotion. I am moving through a space of endless emotion. I cry because I am confronted with a beauty that is transcendent, so beyond my experience and expectation that my mind is lost. It's like coming home. I cry and I feel grateful.

I believe, very strongly, that by the end of AJ's career, she will end up being the greatest musical prodigy in history. What separates her from every other musician is as follow: Mozart, Beethoven, Bach, Quincy Jones and myself, have been taught the way to arrange music is by giving it movement, but what she does is that she is taking it to the next level, by giving it movement but also making the necessary changes in accordance to musical vibrations, so when she puts her vocals on top of those vibrations, the same songs that we've heard a thousand times, suddenly becomes brand new. And we feel it unlike ever before. And that my friend is what makes her unique. Somehow, her brain came equip with the ability to feel and then transpose those musical vibrations, hence the need of other musicians working with her of calling her "BOSS."

I don't know about other people, but for me she really 'grabbed' me with Gloomy Sunday. Short after it went viral! Like so many people I was speechless. I grew up with the music of Billie Holiday, who for me was a force on her own. The tessitura of Billie H is small and the timbre a bit childlike, but what she could do with her inflections and adjusting melodies, evoking so much melancholy, was unique! So I thought, but than I found out that Angelina at age 7 could sound just like her in every aspect. And it wasn't just mimicking. The whole melancholy came with it!!! And the timing and the blue notes. Always thought I could here the darkness of American racism (KuKuxKlan era) and her tragic live in the voice of Billie Holiday, which made her music so sad. But when Angelina sings those songs, it's like she found her own sadness (which children can have strongly) and connected it in her singing. If you watch her she looks like a cute precious angel of a child, but when you hear her sing something really deep draws your attention. She moved me so much even I cried. Mix of feeling the sadness, my amazement and the admiration. Soon found out she could do a whole lot of styles and as you said: she absorbed the voices of many singers. Even male! The way she sang Summertime in that same NGT-show, was again fantastic! How can such a young child even keep tempo on those slow songs? And even better: have superb timing and phrasing? And how can she feel the music and the lyrics so on point! + the warm sound of her voice, + her tastefulness .... She has got it all and following her journey it got better and better and richer aso! Besides that she is the sweetest person ever (so far) and it's just such a good thing that her parents keep her feet on the ground and slow her down. Finish school first, not too many live performances (also due to the pandemic). One more thing: there is something about her voice and appearance that she can turnaround the roles, in a sense that she is young enough to be a daughter or a granddaughter who you would like to give some guidance and if she need it comfort. But I've seen so many times and red in the comments that she is the one that comforts people and supports them. Many older people that is, but more and more younger! Seems like people get addicted to her voice, as if it's healing! I have to admit I almost listen daily to her! So fun to see other people discover her and get also amazed and speechless and moved!

When you react to Bohemian Rhapsody take notice during her performance they highlight audience members in the front row. That is Angelina's Family. From left to right Her uncle and manager Michael Astar, her little sister Juliette, her mother Sarah Astar and her grandmother Mery Zamani. Notice her little sister crossing her fingers as the performance starts and later her mother wipe tears from her eyes. Also remember she said she had waited 10 years to sing for Simon. When she was 3 years old she was begging her mother to go on 'that Simon show'. A child prodigy who started singing Whitney Houston at 1 & 1/2, Won Norway’s Got Talent at 8 yrs old singing Billy Holiday's 'Gloomy Sunday', 'I'm a Fool to Want You' a cappella, 'Bang, Bang' by Nancy Sinatra and 'Summertime' by George Gershwin! She fulfilled one of her childhood wishes when she sang for the Nobel Peace Prize Concert at 8, her second wish that you soon watch was to sing for that 'Simon Show" that she expressed at 3 yrs old when she sang on America's Got Talent 'The Champions' at 13 yrs old singing the most beautiful rendition of Bohemian Rhapsody ever created! She has sung for Quincy Jones & Barak Obama among many others and raised millions for Children Charities and Climate Change! No theatrics here, simply the most soulful interpretation of a song and an ability to convey that emotion right down to your very soul! She has made many grown men cry! Buckle up, you're going to need it! She is 16 as of Jan 10th this year and has just released her second original with Republic Records after being protected to allow her to grow up and when they got a deal that gave her 100 % control over her art. The true GOAT in my opinion! She was 9 when singing a song by Screamin Jay Hawkins on the candle from 1956. kzfaq.info/get/bejne/pN12n9J0tb7ec6c.html She started studying all the Greats of Jazz at 3yrs old on u-tube. What little girl studies Jazz at that age? The one & only Angelina Jordan, The Velvet Voice of the Barefoot princess of Jazz! I would love to see you start with one of her most recent. Her cover of 'When You Believe' by Whitney Houston and Mariah Carie. Watch the studio version first if you haven't seen it. One of her Best! Never one to show off this simple beautiful rendition shows her mindset in approaching her music. Nothing theatrical, just soft Velvet perfection! kzfaq.info/get/bejne/q6ecid16nZOZmIU.html Also if you loved Amy Winehouse, Check out one of my favorites 'Valerie' with her having fun with her sister Juliet on Venice Beach. kzfaq.info/get/bejne/qdedfa-czNGWeZ8.html Perfect again! And you can see her journey knowing her age at the time she sang it and where she was at that point in her and our journey. Angelina's magic for me: I am 56 years old, love music, never like any jazzy stuff. I came upon Angelina by accident. Now I can't get enough of that soulful voice. I look at songs with a jazzy twist with new eyes. I also listen to the originals and think, really beautiful song. Then I listen to Angelina and I FEEL every word and emotion. She is truly magical and amazing.

Angelina use her beautiful voice and immense talent as a vessel for the song, and it is a solid enough vessel to carry an enormous amount of emotion. Many artists add bells and whistles to showcase themselves, and I am sure Angelina does that to some degree as well, but it feels like everything she does are there to support the message and emotions of the song.

Agree with your awesome reaction! I've been saying from the beginning, it's like she takes the best Nuances from Top Tier Artists and Songs and puts it in her Music Tool Box. Her Tool Box has more than anyone on The Planet and not only being a Musical Genius, She has the Unique Out of this World Tone. To learn more and try to understand about Angelina Jordan need to listen to Alan Papier. He has 2 channels, 1 is kind of a history of the songs Angelina chooses to sing and how she changes them. The other is a Podcast where he has different Artist or reactors discussing the effect Angelina has on them, trying to figure out has she does it. She is only Artist that has Reactors dedicated to her only, God Bless!

I am rapidly approaching my 91st birthday and have listened to thousands of singers in my lifetime. I discovered Angelina shortly after her performance of Gloomy Sunday was uploaded to KZfaq in 2014 and for some time tried to find suitable adjectives to understand Angelina's uniqueness and the way her singing affected me emotionally. It was hurting my brain so much until I realised that there was only one word which adequately "ticked all the boxes". Just saying "Angelina" was the key to complete understanding.

You asked what makes Angelina so magical, so here goes: If it was just one thing it could be... 1 Her honest love of others. Why she's barefoot when she performs etc. 2 Her ability at such an early age to play piano, violin, guitar and flute. 3 The vocal range to preform in any genre. 4 Her arrangements of covers to give a better rendition of most to reach the audience. 5 The emotional reach in all of her music, you felt it in this one as we saw it. 6 The true variable your demeanor takes when hearing her voice. 7 There is so much more though when you put all this together in one package how can you not see the magic... Enjoyed your reaction as always, please catch some of her interviews and maybe before you jump into her current or even her own that she's written look back to at 10/11/12 when she was doing concerts. There are so many more performances when she was at NGT such as: acapella I'm a fool to want you, Bang Bang and Summertime. Then even at AGT with Yellow Brick Road. There are so many in between and I love them all... Have a great day!

I think what you're looking for is that she's an EMPATH. She can listen to a song or singer, channels and communicates the emotion or mood in her own style, even without having the real life experiences. I think she is super sensitive that way. Super intelligent analysis ! She is definitely a product of her jazz influenced background ! She is developing her own style as she matures ! Her timbre is so unique to her and is inherent in all of her songs ! She is a great student and an extremely good listener in that she is able to study a song, stay true to the original and then add her own vocal treatment to make it uniquely hers ! That takes a hard work ,dedication and passion for this to be achieved for sure ! Angelina is fearless, sincere and dedicated to her craft from an early age ! She knows what she wants to sound like and works extremely hard to achieve this ! Angelina from an early age has been given the freedom to explore her voice and experiment with it ! Jazz gave her the opportunity to sing this way and in many ways gives her voice a wide range of sounds to play with ! Her low register certainly helps her in jazz performances ! Her vibrato is very natural and is so good ! Her raspy and breathy sounds really add to her total package ! Most importantly she is driven to be the very best she can be and understands what is necessary to achieve her goals! Tremendously supported family and Republic Records is letting her develop at her own pace ! Only 16 and sounds like a seasoned professional ! She can sing most anything and probably sing the phonebook and make it sound fabulous ! I appreciate you for taking this journey as so many of us have ! Thank you and keep posting as it is so much appreciated ! Much thanks from Canada ! 👍😃🇨🇦🇨🇦❤️

Why people are attracted to her singing - Of course, her perfect pitch… her range… her tone…richness and low register are all pleasing. But what makes her different is that when she sings, she strikes a chord that synchronizes with a chord in your soul , and elicits an emotional response from your very corps. How many times have you teared up?! ( Look at all who are listening in tears - with no idea as to why they are crying!!!) Or how many times have you been filled with a warmth?! Or how many times have you caught your breath?! Or found yourself smiling while listening?! Everyone recognizes her gift, and feels her in their soul.

Yes, this is AJ's arrangement, which is often commented on, but IMO overlooked for its brilliance. She begins a cappella, then introduces the guitar as a complement to her perfectly-pitched vocals, centering the composition and allowing her to move away from the breathy introduction and into sustained vibrato, pushing more power and open emotion into the song as the piano joins the guitar, building to a crescendo that perfectly matches the lyrics, then finally back into a restrained coda that is almost a cappella, featuring a few rich piano and guitar chords. The whole performance is just absolutely masterful. The more you understand composition, the more admiration you have for what AJ has created. And then performed live. This performance alone should have won the competition.

I made the 3d comment before, which is the Magic that has hooked me. Another Magic, which this song is the most extreme, is her interpretation of song. And her third Magic is her way of matching the emotional tone of that interpretation with the emotional color of her voice that belies her age. I mean she got me to use the word "belies". I'm 52 and I can't ever remember using that word before, how do I even remember that word.

From an Andy Schnell KZfaq comment we have this modified version about Angelina: Angelina found her natural talent and passion at an early age. Many consider Angelina a musical prodigy. Angelina also creates her own arrangements and has done so seemingly since an early age. Angelina started singing around 18 months of age, after listening to Whitney Houston singing “I Will Always Love You” on KZfaq. There is a brief video of her doing this. She quickly became obsessed with listening to music videos and her maternal grandmother, Mery Zamani, got Angelina interested in classic jazz. Mery Zamani is Iranian and was considered a child prodigy as an artist and poet while growing up in Iran. Angelina speaks Norwegian, English, Swedish plus some Japanese and Farsi. Angelina plays the piano and guitar in addition to, reportedly, also the flute and the violin. Why Angelina always performs barefoot: At age 6, while traveling in the Middle East with her mother and grandmother, Angelina noticed a girl around her age standing on the side of the road, asking people to step on her bathroom scale to be weighed in hopes of getting some money. Angelina took off her shoes so as to not get the scale dirty and stepped on the scale many times to make the girl feel better. Angelina befriends the girl who was not wearing shoes and has scars on her feet, and learns she is an orphan. The orphan girl tells Angelina how beautiful she thinks her shoes are. Angelina says her shoes don’t fit her well and she wants to give her shoes to the orphan girl who thanks Angelina for giving her the shoes. Angelina asked the girl what she wanted to be when she grew up and the girl replied, “I want to become a doctor, but that will never happen since I have no parents and I have siblings so I have to do whatever is necessary for us to survive.” Angelina told the girl to never give up on her dreams. The poor girl asked Angelina what she wanted to be when she grew up and Angelina replied that she wanted to sing for the whole world. The poor girl said she would pray every day so Angelina’s dream would come true. Angelina still says she thinks of that homeless girl every day and has always performed barefoot to remind her of all the children who are less fortunate. After Angelina won 2014 Norway’s Got Talent, she become a star in her native Norway and her videos on KZfaq went viral. She gave a few concerts during the summer of 2014 while 8 years old. In December 2014, Angelina sang at the Save the Children's Peace Prize Celebration which is part of the Noble Peace Prize celebration. All before Angelina had turned 14, her family took her to the United States, Brazil, Germany, France, United Kingdom, Russia, South Korea, Singapore among other corners of the Earth, to perform for heads of state and to help raise money for charity. At age 10, and just a week before her 11th birthday, Angelina recorded a demo of “I’m Still Holding Out for You”. Her family never pursued having that recording officially released but someone leaked it on a KZfaq video. Thankfully, everyone involved with that song is OK with the leaked version. Many fans believe this is one of Angelina’s best performances: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/etxooM10zZvNmXk.html When Angelina was 11, she performed several concerts in Norway with a jazz/rock band. Those concerts included up to 14 songs. Angelina seems to be at her best when on stage, never nervous, only 100% confident. On June 27, 2018, at age 12, Jordan performed “Fly Me to the Moon” for Quincy Jones in The O2 Arena in London. She has said that was a high point of her young career which was already in its 6th year. During 2018, Angelina lost her paternal grandfather, her friend Avicii and one of her idols, Aretha Franklin. She did a moving tribute for each. Angelina, before age 14, had covered more than 130 songs from 80 different artists, spanning at least 8 genres, all of which are available on KZfaq. Angelina has always made changes to each song she covers and often her version is preferred over the original. On KZfaq, search on The Complete Works of Angelina Jordan as Rusty Shackleford has put all songs in one file and has a complete playlist in the description of that video. After hearing Angelina’s recording of “Million Miles”, Monte Lipman, the CEO of Republic Records, personally wanted to sign her. In August 2020, Angelina agreed to a contract with Republic Records who declared Angelina to be their highest priority new artist. Reportedly her family requested Republic to allow her as normal a childhood as possible and therefore Republic has yet to fully promote her. In April 2021, her original “7th Heaven” was released. A jazzy, danceable, inspiring song. This was the fifth original song of hers that has been published. The others are “Million Miles”, “What is Life”, “Oslo” and “Shield”. Angelina has posted numerous short performances on TikTok and Instagram. Angelina's videos on KZfaq have over 1 billion views, on Facebook over 2.5 billion views, millions upon millions of views on TikTok and Instagram. There have been millions upon millions of plays on the streaming services of Spotify and others of a small set of songs that Angelina has performed. Angelina has concerts scheduled in Norway in late June and in early July 2022.

What’s special about Angelina? First it’s that she is a true prodigy, and what I mean by that is that she has been able to tap into her artistry from a very young age, and she can arrange her own performances, and then she can perform the songs with all the drama and performance quality of any actress, which I’m sure you picked up on with her performance of “l Put a Spell on You”. But what most miss is that she went to school on Ella Fitzgerald, and as we all know Ella was the quintessential performer, and when you analyze Angelina you will find that she slows the tempo, aka Ella Fitzgerald, and she uses her voice like another instrument in the band, again like Ella. Sure she encompasses many other artist like Billie Holliday, Frank Sinatra, Etta James, and Amy Winehouse, but she modulates those personalities with her mastery of Ella’s style and approach to singing. If you are going to do the Norway’s Got Talent performances you should do them all at once, because then you can see the progression, and then you will understand that when she came to do “I Put a Spell on You” that she did exactly what she wanted including how she sang the song, because you will realize she could do anything she wanted to make the sounds she wanted from the time she was 7, and if you want more proof than watch this performance of “What a Difference a Day Makes” which she did just days after winning NGT, it’s phenomenal on another level. Very interesting observations.Angelina from the very beginning said that she wants to sing for the world and spread love through her music. She also said that she has her own style which she has been refining. She said that she wants to modernize the classics to reintroduce them. She says that she speaks and emotes through her music rather than talking. She knows that she has been given a gift and this keeps her humble and generous. She is a singer/songwriter,author,musician,painter,multilinguist,seamstress,and humanitarian,as well as having an incredible work ethic. Her consistency to her commitments since early childhood leave me in awe.

To me, what's amazing to me is that she's able to sing a song and bring in every emotion of the song, even though at her age, she can't truly comprehend the meaning of what she's singing. But she's able to make you believe it. And the emotion in her voice just always carries through in whatever she's singing.

Queen liked this performance so much that they posted it on their Twitter account and said " Wow , what a rendition " and even gave her permission to copyright her version. A couple of months after this Angelina did a Tribute to Freddie Mercury with a cover of " The Show Must Go On " . When Queen saw that performance they commented that Angelina can cover any of our songs that she wants to because " NO ONE DOES IT BETTER " !! What sets The Barefoot Princess apart is that she is a very empathetic individual and when she arranges a song she brings out the feelings behind it that you never knew were there . This makes her totally unique in the music industry.

For me, I always have this feeling that Angelina is not only channeling some of these late great singers, but that they also pass through her, when she is singing their song, & is why she can capture the true spirit of the original singer ❤💙I have also been often, lost for words, when trying to describe Angelina Jordan's unique vocals, & I still cannot express, or even come to terms, with what my ears are hearing, most times, but the one thing I do know, is when I hear her voice, it always touches my soul, & can make me feel things I didn't even know existed!!! To me, that is her gift, & what makes her, not only a phenomenal singer, but an incredible soulful artist 💝 *SHE TRULY IS A GIFT* 💝A rare beauty, in every sense of the word ❤💙 Loved your reaction!!!

What makes Angelina special...? Wow, what a question. First is the observation that she has absolutely no fear of exposing her voice alone (without much, if any, backing instruments). We see that in Bohemian Rhapsody when she starts a cappella despite singing before the entire American audience and before Simon and doing it by re-imagining an iconic almost untouchable song. Who does that..at 13yo? At 3:50 she tilts her head to the side and a view of her confidence in what she is doing becomes clear. That instant was when she had me. She has said she is never nervous singing as it is like breathing for her. We see this over and over, across different artists, vocal ranges, genres, performance venues, etc. This calmness allows her to emote whatever message is needed without striving and seemingly without effort (she puts in the time and effort but you just never see it on the stage). As you said, she is standing on the shoulders of giants and, I believe, will soon stand among them.

Yes, there's something about her that sets her apart. Always humble, wonderful timing, great runs but never too many, incredible technical ability (slides, vibratto, vocal fry etc), great arrangements and little changes here and there, always achieving emotional connection with the lyrics and the listener. Her covers are often more enjoyable than the original. Her originals show so many sides to her. The more you listen, the more you will be surprised by the fact that you are surprised every time she starts to sing! You think you know her, but she proves you wrong time and time again.

Angelina is an empathic musical genius who relates to the meaning of every song she chooses to perform. Her GOD given voice gives her the ability to translate that understanding to us. Just my opinion.

Angelina’s voice and her total being is like an ocean wave or soft summer breeze that takes you in and rushes you to places you have rarely experienced. Your heart rate increases, you find it difficult to catch your breath, chills and shells engulf you. You are now addicted to Angelina Jordan the finest story telling vocalist I have ever experienced.

I discovered Angelina after you posted your reaction of her I Put A Spell On You video and I was blown away by the maturity, control and tone of her voice at that very young age in that video and she has just consistently gotten better and better. Hopefully she doesn't burn out like you see sometimes with child TV stars. She's 16 now and I just saw a short video clip (TikTok, I think) of her singing outside and she sounded pretty damn good.

What makes her different? Beyond her obvious technical abilities and unique tone, it is the ability to emit emotion. She makes you feel. So many covers that she does that I never really knew what the song was about till Angelina sang it to me. She is the artist that spontaneously brings tears to my eyes. No others do. She has hundreds of thousands Angels, yet I am the only one she is singing to. You probably feel the same.

For me, as a young child I grew up with the original artists. I had a child’s perspective for the lyrics of these songs she brings back. As a child when I listened, I would often envision a different sound or feeling that could be done to make it better. This is what Angelinas’ versions of these songs brings back to me. The feeling of listening to beautiful music from a child’s perspective. If this makes sense to anyone else? Thank you so very much for sharing your experience with us all! I really appreciate your reactions and insights. Much love and appreciation from California.❤️🕊🍀🌈😇🙏❣️

This song was my introduction to Angelina in January of 2020. My wife was watching the program in the next room and called to me to come watch after she finished singing. We rewound the broadcast and I was just astonished at how much this song moved me. Later that evening I rewatched this song a dozen times or so and each time found myself choking up on the belted part. Then I just went on to KZfaq and went down the rabbit hole and could not get enough. Simply put the young Angelina is just magical. You cannot believe what you are seeing and hearing. She emotes music effortlessly. Like Aurora she is not afraid to fully immerse herself in the music she is singing. So many Angelina songs can bring me to tears unlike the original artists version. In your first reaction you called her authentic. That is a perfect word. She is not a pretender. She is music. Even though she is young and lacks so much life experience that singers and songwriters draw upon, she still seems to have the ability to understand the emotional aspects of the songs she performs. Or she might sing them from a context that means something to her. In an interview she does say she goes to a magical place when she sings. Like Aurora she is best watched while she sings. She expresses the emotions so well with facial expressions and body language. One of her most emotional performances in my opinion is I’ll Be There, By the Jackson Five, at a gala in Sweden to honor everyday heroes. She is ten. She has a bad cold. Her voice and pitch are imperfectly perfect. The song is dropped into a minor key and slowed down. This song makes me cry more than any other song she does. Just watch her face. So to answer your question. She is magical because she makes you feel the emotions. Music is what emotions sound like. Link to I’ll Be There kzfaq.info/get/bejne/jLB5qtmIydWzY6M.html

The magic is the paradox between her talent and her humility as a genuine human being. Unseen in most artists. When she performs, it's never about her. It's always about making the song work for the audience. When covering a song, she only strives for the perfect rendition. That's it. Not for fame or recognition. That is her true Magic!

A true musician puts meaning in to each and every note so it makes sense and can stand by itself, and when such notes are combined the music becomes a story told from one soul to another, and the musician and the listener becomes one.

It all boils down to upbringing, Angelina was brought up under the wings of her grandmother Mery Zamani aka Mosarz world renowned poet and artist (a child prodigy herself) Mery instilled in Angelina her love of Jazz, and her humanitarianism (Angelina donated what she won on Norway’s got talent to children’s charities). Before age 12 Won Norway’s got talent Sang Noble Peace Prize Wrote a book (youngest published author in Norway) 9 based on diary entries when she was 6 Traveled the world helping raise millions for different charities and causes Opened for Nora Jones (crowd of 35,000 Asked to sing Alan Walker concert Opening act at Quincy Jones 85th birthday celebration Performed for the prime ministers of her country and Japan Preformed for Royal Prince Harlan in Brazil and was asked by the prince to sing at a virtual conference between Norway and California Performed for former president Obama By the time she was 13 she had amassed over 300 million views on KZfaq and 1 1/2 billion views on Facebook ( current figures are 1 billion views on KZfaq and 2 1/2 billion views on Facebook) several of her reactors have over 1 million views. I think one of the judges on Norway’s got talent said it best “ you have the unique ability to emote emotion through song “.

As one of the commentators below observed; Angelina has an extraordinarily broad and deep 'Toolkit'. She has developed and continues to expand this with many diverse musical influences and then just reaches in and creates a selection to suit her interpretation - or creation - of each new song. This is a rich resource of artistry balanced on a solid foundation of performance experience. Yes, she leans toward her favourites, like Jazz / Blues / Swing, but she also experiments across genres, and neither is she confined to any one. Her own composition; Million Miles', which is her emotional tribute to her beloved & recently passed grandfather, is evidence of her unique evolving talent. A career to watch. I just hope, in line with the concern as you have expressed, that the old trap of early success very young doesn't mess with her developing sense of identity. She is trying out different versions of 'self' currently, at least in her clips. I just pray she charts a steady course.

What is it about Angelina that is so special? From a very early age she sees herself as an artist. She investigates, discovers and explores her world as an artist She has always wanted to sing for the world. and she has had an audience since she was 7 that she truly appreciates. You see that from the very first performances. Probably it's best expression is expressed in her version of "I ahave nothing" by Witney Houston kzfaq.info/get/bejne/m7qTqdmAm6iXeaM.html

@P.C: The very first time I saw and heard Angelina was in 2014 when her first audition at Norway's Got Talent was made public and that performance actually made me cry. Over the years, several things seem to be true. (1) Angelina is someone we all enjoy looking at. (2) She seems to be humble and ever respectful of her audiences -- her practice of executing a curtsy at the end of a song, for example. (3) She seems unafraid and exudes the kind of confidence we all wish we had. (4) She is the master of the slow build-up in her arrangements. (5) We get the feeling her songs are telling us something, not just moving air. (6) She is beyond masterful in the way she can control her breath and the sounds she makes. (7) Her music seems to hit all one's chakra points (if you believe in that sort of thing). Put all those together and they make for quite some individual.

It’s wild how many incredibly influential, extremely gifted performers are wonderful people. I keep hearing the same about Dimash. Possibly the most technically gifted and emotionally engaging singers in the world, and people can’t stop saying how humble and pure he is. Maybe these people just are more highly focused on performing and not on ephemeral stuff like ego and drama.
