This is from her age 10 year. Maybe do a 10 year old marathon. She produced a bunch of perfect songs at 10. Something happened within and she got it. Then ran with it. I mean she stands right next to Ella Fitzgerald, the voice of the century. But shes fricken 10. This song is perfect.

She just doesn't over sing a song. She's a master of matching a mood to the lyrics and having the vocal control to bring a song alive. She makes it all about the song. Where others need to show how great a singer they are and add something into the song that doesn't match up.

She was always way ahead of her time but a 10 years old she produced a large volume of masterpieces as her voice matured very quickly. This particular piece is certainly in the top tier for me, and it is special as I see the total joy in her face and the smile as she sings. She is totally calm and relaxed and doing things technically with her voice that are beautiful. It is an Ella Fitzgerald song and she puts her mark on it at 10 years old, singing about her leaving for the US and saying goodbye for now. Just magical! This was such a lovely performance. I think it's arguably her best. At least right this minute it is. That rare smile into the camera is just another layer of sweetness. The song, guitar, phrasing, emotional singing....and the smile is perfection.

One can not watch this without being absorbed into Angelina's spell. Like so many of her songs, when you watch it again a month later, it grabs you all over again. Month after month, the same thing. She's an adorable freak of nature with a voice that pierces every cell of your body.

When she sings for us do we really believe we are listening to a very young person or does it make more sense we are listening to something deep within her which transforms into sounds of love that touches our hearts. Cole Porter deliberately changed the chords from minor to major, opposite from the text there! Just for fun! One of her specialties is how she deals with breaks in the sentence (self chosen) without breaking the attention line. A story telling skill!

This song has stayed in my AJ top ten for the last 2+ years. Just captivating. Cole Porter really wrote a beautiful piece, and Angelina just improved on it. Another thing I admire about this video is the wonderful audio quality. The breeze is blowing her hair around along with the flowers in the background, yet the vocals are just as crisp as can be, with no wind noise.

To begin with, the 'Gold Standard' for this song was by Ella Fitzgerald, who was rated #1 of 'The Top 50 Jazz Singers Of All Time' (Sinatra was #2, Nat King Cole #3, and Billie Holiday #4). Her recording was professionally produced with who knows how many takes before settling on the final, released to the public product. Here, we have a 10 year old girl who is singing on a roof top, outdoors, with a guitarist just keeping 'time'. Her genius here is that she knows Ella's rendition was pure perfection so the only real change she decides to make is slow it down. In the bridge you can hear subtle jazz elements of her own but nothing more than that. To me, this is the best version of this song I have ever experienced and that includes Ella's version.

Welcome back from being sick. So relaxed and smooth and yet the voice and breath control. She knows so much about holding a note, the end of a word, stretching the word to draw out feelings. Delicate and free, like a song bird, a canary of jazz.

How Angelina can take a classic song and make it better is beyond comprehension. I believe her focus is to tell the story of the song and she sometimes makes small changes while other times recreating the song. The end result is ALWAYS captivating and a pleasure to hear. I think even the birds gliding by in this video were smiling at the glorious voice they heard.

I keep thinking I've heard Angelina sing, and then I hear the next song and I'm once again blown away? You said it, we can never know what to expect. Angelina is a Maestra! And she's ten years old here. First of all, thank you for this reaction, I loved when you took the first break and commented on how few notes there are in this song... Cole Porter is a song writing genius and this is one of his great examples. Everything on how this song carries, is on the singer... EVERYTHING! And to your point, Angelina holds us captivated throughout. You can't take your ears away. But me, being stupid, just assumed that she was using the Elle Fitzgerald arrangement... Nope! I went back and listened to both the Ella and Sarah Vaughan renditions, Nope! Sarah drops the second phase for a guitar interlude (Evertime we say goodbye, I wonder why a little), which breaks the continuity of the song (the next line being "Why the gods above me...") Closer to Ella, but Angelina slows it down so that every note matters even more. And Angelina's phrasing and care with the diphthongs is a masterwork. It was as if Porter had written the song for her. (I wonder when he heard the song in his head if it was her singing it?) This is the finest version of this song I've heard. I love everything about this Cole Porter song, including the rooftop setting and the clouds in the distance. One of Angelina's best in my opinion. BTW, I loved Extreme back in the day. They were underrated in their love songs, including "More Than Words" and "Hole Hearted."

Her family flew there and checked everything out and it flew back and told her pack her bags we’re going to America and that’s the spirit very smart move her she won. America’s got talent. The champions at 13 she sang her edition of Bohemian Rhapsody and got 85 million views for that one song which launched her career made a known or on America farewell to Norway she’s not very sad, but she’s very happy to sleep in some extra feelings

Actually, she left with her family a few hours later on a world tour. She didn't move to L. A. until she was almost 13.

Hey , Since you loved this so much check out her Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas on TikTok last year. Just her and her cell phone and a very nice “bye” at the end that just melts you. I don’t know why it doesn’t have hundreds of thousands of views, but I’m just a sucker for this kid, I guess. I’m also one of the few people who hopes she goes to college next year, she can still work on her career at the same time, many actresses have done it in the past and she’d still only be 20 or 21 when she graduated! My god the possibilities with this girl are endless! Anyway, make sure you watch the TikTok version, it’s really special!

What about the total genius and higher intelligence/understanding AJ constantly displays at such a young age......it cannot be learned at such an age. Then being able to express herself perfectly with higher understanding than most will never in a lifetime achieve in music.....and in a "foreign" language of English to her native tongue of Norwegian. There is just so much BESIDES her voice to consider that encompasses her genius. That is why she is such an amazing voice......we don't know yet what she is capable of......and maybe just maybe she doesn't either.

Yet he was the author of some of the most famous musicals of the American scene and unforgettable songs like "Night and Day", "I've Got You Under My Skin", "My Heart Belongs to Daddy" among many others. "Every Time We Say Good Bye", written in 1950, has been performed by all the greats (from Ella Fitzgerald to Chet Baker and John Coltrane through Sarah Vaughan or Nina Simone). Once again the extent of AJ's musical knowledge is very impressive for a young girl born in 2006.

That "major to minor" line is something of a standing joke. As you noted, there is actually a change from minor to major, which I think causes Angelina to grin a bit wider.
