Just to let you know, the other co-writer of the song, BC Jean, was the first to sing the song as well as the person the song came from. She had just broken up with the man that she loved. Per Toby, they played it for Beyonce one day and she really wanted to sing and use this song, and the rest you say is history. Angelina and Toby have been working together for a while now and are creating new music for her to sing. They teased a song at a special event called Bad Valentine and it should be coming out within a few months. This collaboration is awesome! This is the version of this song with Toby one of the origional song writers of 'If I was A Boy,' that I prefer. Thats because there is not too much production. I know they feel they know how to do their job but really this version is the way to handle Angelinas voice and the subtle nuances of her voice. Sometimes less is more when you have a vocalist of her quality. Other artists may need cleaning up but every crack every slide around perfect pitch is what conveys the emotion. Thats jazz it rides in front or behind the beat it adds imperfection to make perfection.

She is actually only 18 her birthday is on the 10th January. She and Tobie Gad who is one of the best song writer in the world. They are busy composing a song together called Bad Valentine should be out soon.

A cover only in the sense that what Beyoncé made was a cover of the song written by BC Jean and Toby Gad, originally performed by Jean in 2008. Beyoncé's cover was that same year. In this video the pianist is Toby Gad .. the Piano Diaries are a celebration of his hit songs. He invited Angelina to England with him to perform .. this is the fourth version I have heard. I am not sure if it is really a cover when a singer is standing next to the composer as they jam to create a different version of the song.
