Just 12 years old here, Angelina shows that she is just in a league of her own. She packs in so much detail, that you can talk for several minutes about just the first 20 seconds of her singing. I imagine if someone tried to notate one of Angelina's performances to be replicated by someone else later, it would take pages and pages to get it all down on paper... and I'm not sure there are even notations that could capture some of the finer details of her vocals. And she does all that with seemingly zero effort. Like it's as easy as breathing for her.

@@JenniferGlatzhofer I have something very special for you to listen to, it is Angelina Jordan at 10 years old. it is a demo she did for the dong I'm Still Holding Out for You. The song was leaked a few years ago and a fan mad a lyrics video for it. The link is: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/etxooM10zZvNmXk.html Please remember she was 10 or to be more accurate she recorded it a week before her 11th birthday. Once you hear the song you will understand why I keep saying her age. The original song writer is called Baby Fuzz and he did record it a couple of years after she did the demo. You can find his version on KZfaq. but her version hits different and will move you. Also, the fan allows the video to be played without copywrite strikes so you can play it all the way without stopping but I have only seen a few people do so because the song is so moving. kzfaq.info/get/bejne/etxooM10zZvNmXk.html

you are absolutely right. i read in many comments that she has a good voice for her age. but her voice, her intelligence, her genius and her empathy have nothing to do with her age. who thinks that has not understood who and what angelina is.brilliance cannot be learned and is not a matter of age.

Angelina 12 yo, make the orchestra leader freaking out. She show her upper range and belting power in this performance. And still make it look so easy! As usual, this is filmed, with a cell phone, by someone in the audience. The sound quality is affected by where the speakers are in relation to the phone, etc. You can still hear how amazing Angelina is!

You’re starting to understand why Angels think she’s the best we’ve ever heard. I’ve watched all of your reactions to Angelina, I think. I don’t know of any singers, past or present, who could give us such incredible covers of Adele, James Brown, Queen, and Screamin Jay Hawkins. Angelina gives me my favorite versions of songs across five or six genres. And, believe me, you’ve heard great performances, but you’ve only scratched the surface.

Jennifer, great reaction, as usual. AJ's vibrato is so distinctive -- she moves from a tight, semitone vibrato to a much slower, whole-tone vibrato in the same line, in the very first phrase, and pushes her vibrato from mixed-voice to chest-voice effortlessly. Her control over her voice is just insane. And at the same time, she is so aware of the players around her, riffing with the clarinet. Watch her attention move back and forth between the conductor and the clarinet throughout the performance. Just astonishing.

Fantastic reaction/analysis Jennifer. Angelina has the magical ability to blend with instruments and vary her tonal quality and intonations to match with the primary accompanying instruments which makes any song she does with a live band even more special. Apart from this aspect, the other thing that I think sets her performances apart from other vocalists is that she doesn't just use dynamics to provide variety within the performance but she couples it with changes in tone and voicing (head, chest, mixed, falsetto, etc.) with seamless transitions and then varies the phrasing slightly on repeated phrases so that it doesn't sound repetitious. Her performances are master classes in technique and nuance. I look forward to more reactions/analysis from you in the future. Keep up the great work.

Great reaction to my fav girl ! Angelina is a natural stage performer and so effortless in her delivery ! I've always wondered how someone this young can command the nuances and technical skills required for this genre of music ! I can only assume her inherent jazz influenced early childhood contributes to her abilities to deliver ! I strongly believe Angelina is an extremely intelligent student who from a young age studied the great jazz artists her grandmother introduced her to ! Most importantly she is a great listener and must be able to mimic serious jazz techniques with her voice ! I have not ever heard anyone who has done it till Angelina came along ! Jazz is a very hard genre to master and usually takes decades to sound this mature even though her voice is still developing ! Jenn do you think her jazz background gives her the ability to sing many different types of sounds and cover so many different artists so well ! I'm assuming she is truly gifted and focused on her vocals and delivery ! I hope you continue your Angelina journey as we all have ! Your reaction and analysis was so wonderful and spot on ! I wish the audio in this video would have been better ! The wind instruments were too loud but I guess recording outside didn't add to the quality for sure ! You need to do a more current reaction to Angelina maybe one of her own songs like "Million Miles " live in the studio ! Too many to choose from and all are fabulous ! Thank you again for this reaction it was much appreciated Jenn ! 👍🤗🇨🇦🇨🇦❤️❤️❤️

I'm always amazed at her piercing - or rather - a slicing voice, almost sabre-esque. Some singers will belt this song using sledgehammer power, but she's got the same power but slices her way into our listening. I always appreciate that this conductor is well-familiar with AJ's power and vocal abilities, and they've rehearsed this number before - yet in the climax, she knocks him backward and he straighten, shakes his head and splits his face with a grin.

@@lengould9262 There is a video of AJ in a rehearsal hall with this orchestra. She's at the piano, and the 2nd Clarinet woman is on the bench with her, and they're playing something together and AJ says something and the clarinetist SPIT LAFFS and has to wipe her chin with her sleeve, and they both laugh. I mean, these folks had at least 4 years of working together. Still, she catches them offguard.

Great reaction. This performance is one of a kind. Here I feel that she is using the strident clarinet as a base to rest her voice on - when it came to the belts she fearlessly lept off that base, only working out how to land when she was airborne- so relaxed and unassuming- at the end she appears surprised by the standing ovation by the band and the audience - just gave an extra curtsey - ready for the next song....

There is no doubt that she was at the edge of her belt limit and it is her vibrato that saves it at the edges. Angelina also has a natural rasp to her voice that sometimes will give way to the minutest of cracking but it is an endearing quality. Delbert McClinton the Blues singer will get those at the same point in his vocal range that lends itself to Blues especially. Angelina is a special singer and an even more special person.

Up to 12, yes I think this is the highest at E5 that she does. After 12 she does push it as she gets older. I think Easy on Me is now the highest, unless I'm wrong. But she knows when to push it and when to keep it low and intimate. She isn't belting for the sake of it. She is keeping up with the band and where the arrangement is going. You can tell when the music is stripped down she doesn't belt yet still gives you different colors of her voice to not making things boring.

Check out the 2nd clarinet at the beginning. Giant smile on his face. If people think that Angelina does all of these vocal moves and adornments by consciously making decisions on how to position her tongue, mouth, or any other physical action, I feel that they are mistaken. She seems to know what she wants and then she simply gets out of her own way and lets it happen. A bit like a professional golfer who visualizes the shot - making it curve left or right, high or low. The great ones simply allow their own talent to produce what's needed. This is akin to a 12-year-old shooting 9 under par after 18 holes.

Unfortunately, being a starving artist myself, I've been unable to afford a Patron membership yet. Well at least not until I get my credit card back to a usable level lol. But I would love it if you would still do reaction and review to my request of one of Angelia's Original singles, preferably "Million Miles" which she wrote as a tribute to her Grandfather who passed away. Young, Norwegian girl of 12, singing her rendition of a song that was made famous by The Godfather Of Soul, Mr. James Brown, and takes it 'effortlessly' past the stratosphere to a point where if she had performed it at The Apollo Theater in Harlem, NY, she would have garnered a 'standing ovation' from the toughest Black soul 'critics' on Planet Earth. Thank you so much Jennifer for that awesome wonderfully nerdy reaction & detailed analyses, just the way we like it for (12) Angie. (The highest you heard so far is actually a F5 & with distortion on "I put a spell on you".) This performance you just reacted to, is one of 2 from the same song that are absolutely awesome & yet she did different arrangements on both. The other is from her Kongsberg Jazz festival concert, she gave it a more jazz club vibe & much more intimate, very sublime. Here's the link so you can react to it someday hopefully. (It's audio only) “It’s a man’s world” by James Brown kzfaq.info/get/bejne/qOBgiMagpsuUnIU.html live at Kongesberg in Norway 2018. It had a small Jazz club & intimate feel to it. Very different from the big out door concert & military band. Angie’s 12 here also. Please react to Angie's awesome cover. “You Make Me Feel So Young” cover by Frank Sinatra kzfaq.info/get/bejne/g7d-ZsiU2NvYfKc.html She’s (13). She did her hair & clothes in the era of the song. She's singing this in a type of duet style, this will really blow your mind. Her range in this song gets down into the 2nd octave. Maybe a G2-A2. (Always remember this, Angie never sings a song the same way twice, so you could say they'll all be 1st time reactions. Also you could do a double reaction on Angie & her 2 different arrangements from the same song, 1 at 10 from the full version & again at a recent 16 when she arranged it from a jazz standard. Here's links to them . “My Funny Valentine” from musical Babes in arms- 2/14/16 kzfaq.info/get/bejne/qcBiaKtlxpjLgH0.html She’s 10 with no mic & just sitting on chair singing the full version for Mery her grandma who’s filming her. Angie does a great interpretation of this difficult song to interpret from 1937, (warning Cute factor at the end) “My funny valentine” covered by Ella & Sinatra kzfaq.info/get/bejne/e7p3f8WkrKqleWQ.html 2-14-22 Angie’s 16. She arranged this standard Jazz version. Verses doing the full version this time. Angie filmed this at the Melrose Gallery and Antiques in West Hollywood CA. It matches the song & her timeless voice.👣💎

Your comment on highest for Angelina.... I do believe they had said that she hit an E flat 5 on her "cat cry" belt, when she did Bohemian Rhapsody on America's got talent, ... I do believe she has hit higher sustained belts since then.

She is performing with a Norwgian military band. (They made an album together). The titles fits well with the band - The military forces are a male world.

Yes she is amazing. She is considered a Phenomena of our time. Do you realize your facial expressions when she hits certain notes? You listen and you hear it but it makes your face contort because of her tone her delivery her timing the air and the space between each word. It’s mesmerizing and intoxicating. I’m 60 years old and I’ve been a music lover my whole life there is no vocalist living today that has her God given talent.

I love Angelina. She either needs the big band or just the piano or guitar, nowhere in between. It's either really intimate and personal or grand and huge. Also, check out The Warning too. It's an all sister chick rock band and their album Queen of the Murderseen is an amazing Rock Opera.

It's a Man's World" Angelina Jordan, at the age of 13, delivered an amazing performance of the classic James Brown song "It's a Man's World" on a stage in Oslo, Norway. Her rendition captivated the audience and showcased her remarkable talent. The powerful lyrics and emotional depth of the song were beautifully conveyed by Angelina Jordan's soulful voice. It's no wonder that her performance left a lasting impression on those who witnessed it, (IMPORTANT: watch the orchestra members, and the director as she makes changes to the song that were not rehearsed.)
