The song was waiting for this moment and Angelina to come along. Written for a movie where a prisoner is longing for his wife... This is the real deal now. A real tragedy. Angelina is singing for the Nobel laureate who is sitting in an Iranian prison facing a 31 year sentence. A women's rights activist. She hasn't seen her family in 9 years. And, they're sitting there in front of Angelina as she sings... Imagine the emotion... Angelina presents this song softly, delicately and respectfully. It's a different presentation than the one she did last September in Portsmouth. You're so correct in your observation regarding her restraint in the presentation. She could have easily sung the song and the ending with more power. But, she was delivering a message of loss and longing to loved ones who were right there with her. Absolutely the right artist, in the right place for this special moment.

Not even Bobby Hadfield's 'Gold Standard' version of this song reaches the depths of my inner being as deeply as this emotion laden, penetrating performance that is a tribute to a brave woman languishing in an Iranian prison for attempting to increase women's rights in Iran. Angelina's grandmother is also Iranian and I'm sure this increased Angelina's wanting to honor Narges Mohammadi that much more.

She sang this at least a couple times when she was younger, and she went to the falsetto at the end. I think the earlier version was when she was 8 or 9. Of course, the performances were beautiful and moving. But now the power behind that tone and her ability to sustain the notes is…I don’t know what to say. Spectacular? World class? I don’t know the words except to say that Angelina is the best singer I’ve ever heard. And, moreover, she’s the best singer I’ve ever heard in four or five different genres.

You aren't crazy. Those high notes were spectacular and yet another example of Angelina saying "you think you've heard all I can do? Please! Listen to this"! The funny thing is the first time I heard this I wasn't sure I liked it because she surprised me. Now I love it and admire her even more. I can't wait to see her in person one day.

He had such a powerful and beautiful voice that filled the whole auditorium. During the break, he sat down on the edge of the stage and played his guitar, singing Unchained Melody with so much emotion and passion. It was a sublime moment that I shared with my wife, and I felt like we were the only ones in the room. At that time, I thought to myself; how could anyone top that performance, but 56 years later a 17-year-old Angelina Jordan just did. Angelina was recorded here at the Nobel Peace prize tribute in Oslo Norway, elegantly honoring with song, the brave recipient, with peace and respect. She paid homage to Narges, who is currently on a hunger strike while imprisoned in Iran, for being an activist for women's rights. Her two twin children, who are 17, spoke on her behalf at this event. The more people who are aware, and call for change, the more hopeful that the leaders of Iran will set her free. Omeezy i would like your opinion on something. Angelina has been under contract with Republic Records for nearly 4 yrs .In her contract they not to promote her until she reached 18 . Since signing she has been seen with some of the biggest names in the music industry and Republic even built her a recording studio. Now in 10 days she will be 18 so what do you think about the chances of a big announcement in next 30 to 60 days ?..

She’s sung this song three times during her life, and she hit that note at the end each time. She was 8 or 9 the first time. One of the angels said she was directing this while she was singing, and if you go back and watch all her hand and arm movements, she probably was, especially at the end. Did you ever listen to her more special , linger performance of this, love from the Sept. 22, 3023 concert in Portsmouth, NH ? MY (SLIGHTLY BETTER) AUDIO RECORDING is found on a fan video on JoeyFarr1 channel, and a pieced and edited AJ video is found on BigAngieFan channel.... it was trance inducing for many of us in that audience. Oh... she does Elvis version, he and Bobbie, solo, of thr R. Brothers covered this much older song.... Bobbies is just the best known cover.
