Kerber is one of my favorite players to watch..just the fighting spirit during points and generally during matches..and her screams are iconic..and also that was definitely one of my fave matches

Angie really won the award for best matches played at the AO that year. Battling past Hsieh then fighting her heart our against Halep. Props to caro but Angie really deserved it after such a tough 2017

I think Caro deserved a slam in her career, she earned it but I do agree, Simona and Angie were really unlucky to have to have played for so long, especially in the SF, meaning the winner was going to be exhausted. At least all three of them got a slam that year.

The fact that Halep managed to get past Davis in the 3rd round is even more impressive. If it werent for Davis' broken toenail she would have likely won. That match tho was insanely good. Too bad Davis has had injuries cause she can play at a high level

@@alecplummer6539 Davis went on to beat Kerber at the 2019 Wimbledon second round, becoming the first lucky loser to knock out the defending champion at a slam

It is amazing that after such a long and mighty battle, their exchange when the match ends is simply lovely to watch. at some point in the match, I am sure Angie is so annoyed by Hsieh, the magician

It’s only a nice exchange from Angie when Angie wins. Look at their rematch in 2019. Angie doesn’t even acknowledge Hsieh when she lost. Angie needs to learn to be humble like Hsieh win or lose.

Great match, but Hsieh lost mental focus once she lost the second set and essentially self-destructed. Very sad.

Kerber is good but its clear that Su Wei is the better player overall. One of the days when the better player lost

That's rediculous. Hsieh is much weaker in the final set and Angie just dominated it. I agree that Hsieh may be better in the first set and the first half of the second set, but then her stamina's not able to cover it and Angie really deserved to win due to her unstoppable run

Kerber is a 3 time grand slam champion, silver gold medalist and has won many tournament's on the WTA tour, the only thing Hsieh has won is the Wimbledon 2021 doubles with mertens. Kerber is the better player
