the whole early AVA work is pure art. it’s a poetical masterpiece, the metaphors, the forms, figures, the music they produce is so unique… i am still shocked at how versatile, fruitful and resourceful tom is. pure artist, magician, alien

This song is no doubt legendary, but many bands had similar sounds even decades before. Not so much ahead of it's time but more so the mark of the end of an Era. I like to think the end is always more meaningful than the start.

Almost 15 years later I'm starting to appreciate AVA and Tom's choices in life more than ever. There's nothing more inspiring than someone who literally doesnt give a shit what everyone else expects you to do, and taking control of your own destiny.

So true… just guessing the “85” in your name is the year you were born, like me. We grew up with the best version of an iconic band in Blink 182. Never really got into AVA at the time of release, but am also currently starting to appreciate the music. Stay safe buddy.

People hate on Tom for doing what he does in that moment, but give it a few years and everyone gets it. I mean, look at Neighborhoods. People panned that album and Tom in particular when it came out. Now everyone loves it all of a sudden.

@@donknotts85 Just moved to San Diego and started listening to AVA more, just recently went to see them live it was great. Tom cracked jokes, talked about forming Blink 182, and shared some really deep personal stuff between songs. It was great.

I'm 46 years old and think I´ve heard it all with Pantera, RATM, Mother Love Bone, Alice In Chains, Pearl Jam and so on but then I hear this I get excited. It´s so effin good. Most songs of Angels and Airwaves are so effin good I get a big smile on my face. More than that they feel existential. Like a small part of the universe that seems to connect. Perfect music just to look at the skies with.

What a great song! I was 14 when Blink 182 blew up in the late 90s, then just about out of high school & going to college when Box Car Racer came about, and finally Angels & Airwaves for the majority of my adulthood. AvA is my favorite of all of Tom's bands...and that is saying something! I still listen to blink and am transported back to memories of teen angst, first loves, and limitless possibilities. Box Car was sort of the bridge between being a kid and a man, learning to feel deeply but still somewhat naive of the world. AvA have produced so many anthems that are so personal to me: what it is to be a man, a warrior, to stumble and even fall, to fail, but to then pick yourself up & refuse to quit...and find a rebirth that is more complete, fulfilling, and worthwhile than you could have ever imagined as a kid :)

We would watch mainstream media and eat up all their lies. We will hate anyone who thinks differently instead of keeping a open mind and having worthwhile discovery with each other. We watch the social media and believe what ever we want as long as we agree with the lies. We hate for no real reason and never question the elites who have raised and destroyed countless civilizations. I do believe the great awakening is upon us but it’s up to all of us to question and seek answers. LOVE ALL TRUST A FEW AND DO HARM TO NO ONE ONE. WAR IS DELIGHTFUL FOR THOSE WHO HAVE NO EXPERIENCE OF IT.

***** Yeah maybe you're right about blink 182 not wanting to grow up and evolve but this isn't exactly a different genre, it's still Punk-Rock

***** ??? Space rock?! lol what's that and what's the difference?

***** Hmmm now I'm curious, share your insight with me please... I've never heard of the term "space rock" before lol. What's the difference between space- rock, rock and grunge that is if you're aware if you don't know it's okay?

AVAs Adventure among other songs like Moon is My Witness, Flight of Apollo etc. They are definitive examples of space rock. Tom actually created a genre when he came up with Angels & Airwaves. AVA has so many great songs if you start to think about it... Sirens, Call to Arms, Breathe, Good Day, Epic Holiday, Hallucinations, Everythings Magic, Young London, Dry Your Eyes, Behold a Pale Horse, Shove, Lifeline... The list goes on and on. I myself like everything that Tom has done after Blink, he's a genius :)

This song is amazing, it never gets old. I Empire is the best AVA album! I love listening to it in the Fall when the earth is so beautiful.

IT has always been TOMS genius through lyrical intelligence. He never was a sellout! He knew the truth that others did not see way before his time (a wise soul) and spread it through his lyrics because he knows that through TRUTH and LOVE and humanity's morals there is an alternative to what he was probably seeing through mainstreamed music industry

I can agree with these lyrics, also ''spread love like violence'' is really well trough. Mainly because most people prefer violence over love.

That moment when you're wearing a Blink 182 t shirt and you listen to Angels and Airwaves and you didn't know it was a Tom Delonge side project and everything feels like it's interconnected. Freakin awesome ;)

epicnate98 I have a Blink-182 t-shirt, but I listen to Angels & Airwaves and even though I like Blink-182 too, Angels And Airwaves’ music relates to me in many ways.
