Bob Hoskins was the first choice to play George Knox, but was considered too short for the role and Danny Glover was cast because he is the same size as most of the actors playing the California Angels players, I would've loved to have seen Bob Hoskins play the frustrated George Knox because the character was more like Eddie Valiant in Who Framed Roger Rabbit, but oh well.

George decided not to realize that Dick Van Dyke/Richard Wayne Van Dyke had the baseball game won at all.
