I can only hope I could make it up to the saddle at 71. Awesome job. Glad you got to experience it. It's true though. It's so much fun and so beautiful it helps you forget how hard it is on the way up.

Damn, you are a BOSS! Did it a few years ago at 57 and my calves still hold it against me! We are getting ready to backpack West Fork of Oak Creek, nice and level! Hope I’m still hiking in my 70s, people like you give us all hope, thank you!

Makes me nervous just watching this! I was recently at Zion but did not even think about hiking AL.

That definitely had to take you longer than 1 minute. Haha! I watched the entire video of your hike. It was awesome.

Went back later and climbed it in a snow storm. So peaceful and stunning in those conditions. One of the most memorable hikes of my life. If you liked this, I highly recommend you check that video out.

@JerryArizona Jerry, just got home from a 4 mo. Trip driving around the country. AZ & NM we lost time (3 weeks almost?) But could not do the trail. We were right there, but it was shut down (Winter storm repairs needed). I'm going thru chemo/radiation right now. Lots of 'feelings' limited motion, scared of everything. Tough times, can't describe how grateful I am for your video.

Your opinion about visiting Zion in December?
@JerryArizona Жыл бұрын
This hike was actually in early December a year or so ago. They had stopped running shuttles and you could drive into the main canyon, which was pretty nice. Kept the crowds down. Not sure if they do that every year or not, but I'd recommend checking. December is fine for Zion, but you do run the chance of having snow and ice to deal with.

It's a great hike. It's fun to continue up the West Rim Trail and get the views looking down on Angel's Landing too.

Awesome views, but it wasn’t nearly as exhilarating as I hoped for. To much hype for what it’s worth. Still do it again, though.
