Thanks for this detailed video Angie. My husband is a realtor and I like to make personalized house warming gifts for his clients after they buy a home. Everything doesn't always have to be about money. Sometimes it's good to invest in something that you can use to bring someone else joy...a little smile, or some comfort. Cricut makes being thoughtful easier. At least for me anyway.

Hi Angie, you just got yourself a new subscriber. I just recently got my new Cricut Maker 3 and as a beginner (even though I've been a crafter almost all my life, but in a different direction ... Miniatures and Dollhouses) it was hard to find out what I could do with my machine and especially how to use all the available materials and tools. I tried this on 100% Cotton. It did transfer but after I washed most of the ink is gone. I tried it on polyester cotton blend and it was okay and it didn’t wash out as much as the 100% Cotton. My best result came from a no boundaries shirt ( 92% polyester and 8% spandex) it did not wash out. It still looks as good as the Cricut blank shirt.

I like that the tote designs were on one tote bag lol. Nice video though, I keep seeing invisible ink ads but lno description of what it is/capable of. It’s really neat. Hopefully some companies will put out cheaper products of it all because as others have said, you can spend a lot more making a shirt than just buying one.

Your videos have helped me so much since I started a month ago with my Cricut Maker. I think I am ready to give the Infusible Ink a try. My only question is can you use other blanks besides the Cricut ones.

You can use sublimation blanks or fabrics that are at least 65% polyester.

I tried this out today on a Gildan shirt that was 50/50 cotton and polyester and it worked just fine. I haven't washed it or anything yet but it seems to look promising haha

New to Cricut, love your videos. Bought it to make stained glass patterns, but see endless possibilities. Regarding infusible ink. I've been asked to make a couple of T-shirts for a breast cancer golf outing auction. I've got the design I want. My question is: I have an older dry mount (heat) press with an analog temperature setting, going only to 350 degrees. The infusible ink videos I've seen use 400 degrees. Can I use infusible ink at a lower setting for a longer period of time? If so is there a magic number or way to determine how long (say at 350 degrees)? Thanks for any help!

You really need 400 degrees for Infusible Ink.

I don't recommend it as parchment paper holds in heat while butcher paper releases it.

Thank you for answering a question that I had about butcher paper. I wasn’t sure if it was the same as parchment paper or freezer paper and now I know thank you. Also you said that you used laser copy paper for the infusible ink pen. Can you use plain printer paper?

The copy paper just needs to be able to withstand heat. My regular printer paper says on the back of the back that is is okay for laser printers and that is what I use.

first of all, let me thank you for your well-explained videos. I've watched A LOT of vids recently trying to figure vinyl/ htv and infusible ink out and yours are very watchable. My question is this- can I layer HTV on top of infusible ink? I want to make / draw an icon onto a canvas tote w the ink and add a name over the icon in HTV. Is that possible? Ty

I have done it. You do run the risk of the Infusible Ink fading once heated a second time. Usually with HTV it does not. Be sure to use protective paper though as you might get ink on your press.

Hi Angie, I am making Infusible ink (Water Color Splash) on Bella Canvas (gray) shirt... from cut to weed take 1 hr later before I put on the shirt at (400F/40mins) the color come out very light... do you know why? so is the Sublimation printer ink... I used Hiipoo ink like you said... but I printed and left out for 2 hrs.. before I put onto the same shirt... very light... not vibrated like yours... what have I done wrong?

I hate that they make you buy the shirts and everything to use with the ink, that’s is so disappointing, the price is absolutely horrible.

This was the best review that I have seen about using the infusible ink transfers and based on other crafter comments, (face book and a tee-shirt designer that was in my local Michaels) as long as you purchase shirts/children's items that are at least 50% polyester, you can buy tee-shirts elsewhere. Cotton tee shirts will not work at all. You can also purchase the heat resistant tape from Amazon at a lower price. The Cricut shirts are very nice, but way too expensive for me. I may try one out if they go on sale.

Yes, I don't know where you are but look online. I found lots of much, much cheaper 100% polyester blanks. I'm not even considering the Cricut ones.

I wonder if this is just the pre-base (Usually White) that is put down on the tee prior to the direct garment printing process .......There are lots of tutorials on that process right here on KZfaq....I may just try it out! ;) I have found a ton of great hacks with this process and regular laser printing on regular laser copy paper (which makes me think this is their process but I could also be completely wrong! Trail by error is my specialty! Lol)

Late to the party, but so glad I found this video! Question: I saw a video where someone used multipurpose paper [for both laser and inkjet printers] and it looked like it came out great. Can multipurpose paper be used instead of purchasing laser printer-only paper? Many thanks!

Correct. That is what I am using. It just needs to say it is okay for laser printers or copiers on the package.
