So thoughtful and impressive. This recreation of life nine-hundred years ago near Angkor Wat says so much more than pages of reading that I could do. Appreciate the initiative taken by the team who produced this creative, beautiful and educational video. And, thank you for sharing it for anyone to see. Wish more such videos are available for other heritage sites too.

I am from Seam Reap and now in 1980 I'm living in the US........just to tell you how proud I am born as Khmer .........Maybe my ancestor build 2 or maybe yours ancestor also.................I love khmer people so much everything I see youtube about Cambodian got beat up by Hun Sen I had tears.......................

it's actually Khom-mae/ kam-mae , while "khmer" is a french term describing us khom-mae/kam-mae/ kemet in Egypt 😁😄👍.

Nice reconstructions, except I think there were probably a lot more people around than appear in most of the scenes. The population density was quite high.

Shanu Kumar Your correct because Buddhism isn't a religion but way of life. Ancient Brown Asiatic Asian never go by the term "religion" (which created by the West leader to ascend to power and wealth smh). Buddah never credit or discredit GOD and this is a known FACT. His purposed is to show us Humanity greater path by detaching us from materlasitic thing which will corrupted humans heart. Buddah himself also played a major role in all Western religion (FACT).......

Dy Prem Most of our History history is water down, even our Khmer wtitting system which before 1500 A.D, khmer used to write from right to left until Thai and French fuck us over around early 1600 A.D smh. Syam /Siem /Thailand was under French colonisation until 1688....

Cambodia was so powerful in the 13th century that the Mongols - who tried to invade Japan and Java and had successfully subdued Champa, Dai Viet and Burma (effectively encircling Cambodia) - did not even dare attempt fight the Khmer Empire.

真臘風土記，真臘is the Chinese name for Khmers back then and 風土記 means local conditions and customs

Only local people who lived on this land who build most of these temples which Khmer who lived on this land the same thing as a Great Wall in China. If someone says Iraqi who had build a Great Wall in China should I believe it? Of course not.
