Thank you man, i've made a thrown away grinder to fit a 12" disc sander but it's too fast, you have just shown me my solution although when i clicked the part link and saw cost was 350 i almost spat my coffee out until i converted it to pound lol. Much appreciated.

@@HMELJ1982 Ahh so this is the reason i've got 2 of these devices lying around lol. I tried them on an old sowing machine motor for a lathe but they didn't work :(

For other, 3-pin socket applications, can the green wire be coupled with the black one, both in and out? So the protective pin is used too?

Nice Idea, I was trying to use a fan regulartor, but just thought of searching in you-tube for inspirations. Came to know we have to use a 2kw controller as the angle grinder is 650w. BTW, where can I get the angle grinder stand you have ?

no, they cannot handle the load. fan is just 60w, while my angle grinder is 650w. so a 2kw controller is the right thing to sue.

Do not ask, because the wrong disc is being used. Shown is a cutoff wheel for metal when the correct disc is a thicker grinding type. They are available at any place that discs are sold.

That depends on whether you stuff it in a wooden enclosure where the heatsink cannot radiate excess heat sufficiently. Shown is a "supposed" 2000W, but you should consult the specs for your specific grinder. A typical wattage rating for a 4.5" grinder is around 800W, but some are more, some are less, and you still want a good margin above that for better lifespan of the controller. 2000W is about right considering you will not save much if any money trying to find something lower than that, since that is a ready made module from China costing about $3 USD delivered.
