the cutting hieght is adjustable so cutting like a groove should work out.

I guess you cannot tighten it at a certain height position. The spring will take it up all the time, no locking nut. But as he mentioned you will have to use the height stopper screw at the side. In that way you will have to press it but it will stop at the adjusted height. Or is you want to run something through without touching the handle, you can diy a wooden blocks under the lever and tie the handle with a wire fasten it into the hole at the base to make it stay at a desired position.

you can probabaly cut up to 2" tubes. might have to roate the tube once but it will be a nice cut.
