Those are sweet motors.

After running fiberglass boats for all these years, I would have a hard time going back to aluminum for a small river boat like this. It's a misconception that aluminum is less likely to scuff up. Fiberglass flexes and aluminum dents. Fiberglass is far easier to repair also. I have been a bad driver a few times and side swiped big trees, smashed into rocks and pipes sideways, run over visible rocks with no water and am still yet to damage one of these boats. Fiberglass slides over rocks, aluminum digs into rocks. Just ask all of the thousands of guys who have gone to fiberglass drift boats recently. Fiberglass is also more comfortable and warmer in the winter. You should visit Jake and take a ride in one of these before you decide which boat to buy.

@@AnglerWestTV Thank you man you definitely changed my perspective on fiberglass. I’ve dented my Jon Jet boat around the transom at Nisqually when it’s chocolate milk water very hard to tell it’s shallow and want something thicker or stronger🤙🏻

I like the center console also but for people who have never run a center console they can seem squirrelly. It takes a while to wrap your brain around steering ahead of time. For small NW rivers though, the transom drive will give you better control like Jake says. I've had a transom mount trolling motor on a Power Drifter and I understand why you like that for where you are fishing. I do think that if you tried the particular motor that Jake has with all of that power and control you might like it as well. Lots of guys fishing the Columbia these days are going to an electric up front and a regular kicker in back and running them both, especially on windy days. With the lightweight batteries we have access to and how much better the motors are these days, I see no reason not to put electric motors on both ends of the boat--other than cost of course but boats are important.

It's not an ocean boat but it will handle swells and a reasonable amount of windd chop. We had one out on Tillamook Bay the other day on a calm day and ran all over. Fished several areas and did some clamming. Lots of fun at low tide.
