(Reporter: "What is the sign of good will the President is waiting for?") "Ending of hostilities." ("And from your part? Who is going to take the lead?") "The government has the responsibility to keep the peace at home and the security. And this is the responsibility of any government in the world. We are not going to shoot if the other side does not shoot. So we want a sign that they are going to stop hostilities."

STORYLINE:
US President George Bush has called for a ceasefire in Angola at a meeting on Tuesday with Angolan President Eduardo dos Santos.
Bush is taking the opportunity for peacemaking efforts following the death of longtime Angolan rebel leader Jonas Savimbi.
President Bush met dos Santos only days after Savimbi was killed in a gunbattle with the Angolan army.
The president of Mozambique, Joaquim Alberto Chissano, and President Festus Gontebanye of Botswana were also in attendance at the White House talks.
The White House meeting was to consider how the three African leaders, in concert with the United States, could help achieve peace in Angola and elsewhere in the region.
On Monday US Secretary of State, Colin Powell, also discussed peace prospects with the three leaders.
