I don't know how old you are, (and I'm not putting you down) but just 15 yrs ago we had a distinctive culture, and noone could deny it. House music & beaches! We loved our festivals, I was a bartender in the thick of this for 6 yrs but I'm also a nerd, I don't want to say our entire culture was limited to partying but hot damn, it was distinctively Australian. Ibiza, New York, MIAMI... they had far superior nightlife, but it truly was part of us in a way that other places never felt.

Yeah, I'm all for lockdown when it's needed but Australia is being over the top. If covid is going nuts and killing a ton then yes, lockdown for sure. But if cases aren't high and deaths are low, then the negatives aren't aren't worth it. It's like chemotherapy, you shouldn't be on it 24/7 to trying and prevent cancer because it's damaging to your body but, if you have cancer then it makes sense to do chemotherapy. Each treatment and action does have negatives and I think in this case lockdown is over the top

Gyms aren't essential to keep you strong and healthy, that's food and exercise. You can do one and get both outside of a gym. The gym also only gives you one of those requirements. I don't go to the gym, I'm also not active in terms of exercise, I'm also outside often, and I don't get sick, at all. Must just be built different 😂

@@rickypearce843 You are right in that watching how much you eat and eating the right things will keep your weight down, and there are plenty of exercises that you can do at home, Isaac has a killer point that going to the gym is the only thing standing between them and a dark place. Luckily, I am not anywhere near that point, but exercising at home with my limited equipment is just not satisfying. It doesn't boost my mood and I feel like I haven't done enough. It makes me less inclined to do it. I kept walking a ton (5+ miles a day) when gyms were closed here, but once they opened back up, I was immediately back in and felt loads better. And obviously, closing gyms didn't cause this, but most people didn't take the lockdowns as a time to lose weight and get healthier. That's another huge problem.

I agree! Working out makes everything better - physically and mentally. Also - check the co-morbodities of those dying - obesity, heart issues, diabetes... So much could be helped with a bit of exercise.

You don’t need to run. Just go for a walk. I understand super fit people want to keep that up but unfortunately at the moment you can’t. I wear a mask 8 hours a day. And have smoked for 20 years and have a beer belly. If you really can’t handle it you should go to the hospital you have a serious health problem.

You don’t need to wear a mask when running. It’s on the NSW health website listed as strenuous exercise.
