I wouldn't like to give my bank information too. Just what's standard price? When id go to buy it then of course id give bank card but not before. and I think that's reasonable. but really don't understand why a number can't be given. I wouldn't trip on the phone like that but I can understand his frustrstion. Just seems silly to not answer a simple question.

If you are eligible for leasing the equipment the company may require a form of collateral. An efficient company doesnt give their time to a caller who is going to call in a thousand times.

I'm with Grandpa on this one. a Social Security Number is not a piece of info you give to a cable/internet company for service. Especially if they're trying to get your bank and card info before they even give you a price.

I've worked for Dish Network and I understand why this customer is frustrated. He is right, we do not need the banking info of the customer. We may calculate manually how much it will cost after he informs us which plan he would like to sign up for. He only requires a quote. This is why I resigned from Dish. I was promoted to Retention only and the queue never stops because of all these inconveniences due to the lack of communication skills of the people they hire.

Optimum doesn't ask for banking info either. They'll ask for your SSN and banking info once you're purchasing anything; it's to cut down on fraud, specifically CC fraud. If you're asked for banking/SSN number just for asking for package prices, it's a scam call at best, and rogue employees trying to commit fraud at worst.
