• Black Americans Expres...
As my subscribers know, I have been collecting meaningful documentary material for most of my career. In the late 1980s, I produced a television series on the 1960s back then I was an independent documentary filmmaker working for the networks etc. This compilation was put together by me from footage that I collected back then and although I did not shoot these scenes, I worked for the producers that did. These black Americans are angry. And expressing it articulately. Does it sound like today? In some ways yes. With the murder of George Floyd, people have gone into the streets again and some of what I present here could sound like it was recorded in the present.
Some subscribers asked why I use the word rage in my title. Yes they are angry. Yes they are seething. Yes they are disgusted and frustrated, the speakers. Looking up the definition of the word rage, I feel that some of these expressions speak to that emotion. I have interviewed so many people of all stripes on this issue and the stories that I have heard from black Americans who have suffered indignities that seem hard to believe. Somewhat disgusting. Some people have treated them as subhuman.
There is not much one can say who has not experienced what they have but I feel that by presenting this history, certainly not all that occurred back then, but a part of it, that I am helping to create a historical record which is three-dimensional if you look at the dozens of commentaries I have posted on my KZfaq channel regarding civil rights, human rights, American history, family life, etc. during the 1950s, the 1960s, up into the present. I am over 80 years old and I'm still recording stories and commentaries like these.
If you found this video of interest, please consider supporting my efforts by clicking the Super Thanks below the video screen. Your support will allow me to continue to present videos like this from my archive.
Thank you

As a black man, I can understand how his generation felt during that time. They endured horrific abuse and economic exploitation due to the color of their skin. My older and deceased family members have told me some horror stories. But when I hear people today say that "oh, nothing has changed," I can't help but wonder what they are smoking. Racism still exists, but nowhere near to the degree that it existed 50 years ago. It is very disrespectful to those who endured bloodshed so that we can enjoy our American freedoms to say that their sacrifice accomplished nothing. It is also disrespectful to ourselves to say "oh, we can't do anything productive with ourselves besides riot!" Burning ones own community down is extremely counterproductive, regardless of WHO owns the buildings. All they're gonna do is collect their property insurance and move on. And then somebody else will come buy the property. ...or nobody will buy the burned out shell of a building. It will just sit there unused, and you will still be unheard. It is NOT our job to carry the emotional baggage of past generations. And we must not poison the minds of our young people today by instilling in them this weird inferiority complex of victimhood. You CAN reach your God-given potential. And nobody can stop you, but you. My .02

This man has a point obviously and many people commenting also have some points but are ignoring the difference in time periods. Yes it is true that it’s not the “white man” that owns everything and lords over the rest, but in the 60s there was more levels than now so this man’s anger is not misplaced, it is just focused on the most immediate levels above him at the time. I think most people have come to realize the truth today that it’s not about race at all, as we are all being subjugated and lorded over. Right now we are all this man and you can replace “the white man” with “elitist ruling class bloodline families that don’t even consider themselves the same species as us”. It really is the human race vs their masters and these masters barely consider themselves human… we are the equivalent of cattle to them and if that sounds crazy to you than you are naive and blind to the reality of pure evil and narcissism to the umpteenth power that truly exists in this world. These “people” believe in a form of rebirth reincarnation and plan in decades and centuries while we plan in years or months or days depending on level. They are winning at a game that we don’t even know we are playing!

It is about race today. White Americans disproportionately own the wealth and property in America. The wealth gap between White Americans and other races is still a thing, the only exception being the children of immigrants who were only allowed into the US because they were wealthy. The rich in America are White and they prefer and build up other White people and exploit non-White. Non-White Americans are far more likely to have their resumes rejected, are far less likely to be promoted and are less likely to receive loans or to have their communities, are far less likely to own a house/not be a renter, are far less likely to have a significant inheritance, are far more likely to be harassed by police. Some things have changed since this, but it's a long road ahead before there's anything close to equality in the US.

We dont own the land either. You dont own something when they can take it away for not paying taxes. Or if they want to build a highway through your backyard. "Landowners" can afford to lease the land for life, but they dont own it.

His point is that at that time literally every single store and home was owned by white people and rented to black ones that despite the city being "home" to many African Americans they did not own any of it, and even extended to how the police and courts do not represent them either. You just don't want to acknowledge that YES race did and still does play a part in oppression of others. That's not to say you can't ever be oppressed if you're white or that it isn't truly about wealth at the end of the day, but race plays a huge part in HOW these things manifest in society. If white people weren't willing to profit off blacks for decades like this then maybe it would be wrong to do it to everyone today yeah? Maybe elites use the excuse of "oppressing only a certain race" using that argument to get racists to support them, and then use that power on everyone slowly but surely while getting rid of all the racists they used in the first place...

Owning property is the largest source of intergenerational wealth in the US. Guess who has more of it? Guess who didn't get denied loans over their skin color? Guess who had lots of choices of places to live? That's the issue here, not whether or not you can lose your land.

He does an incredible job of showing how the victim mentality poisons the mind. First he acts as if blacks not learning about property values was anyone's fault except for their own while implying it's racism that keeps blacks from owning their own property...IN HARLEM 😂 basically one black guy was denied the land they wanted to buy because of racism property because of racism. Then he names off the days of the week and what why a man he's working for that day. But I don't think he realizes all he's doing is explaining what paying bills is😂 because every white person in America works a few days out of the week for someone else😂 Then he goes through all the things that white people own that subjugate the black people as if the black people couldn't hold those very same things if they wanted😂 Basically he just blamed racism for all the black man's problems. If I'm completely wrong here Feel free to point out where and why
