Angry mother ducks can't stop a heron that does eat animals for prey meat and is eating ducklings

An avian predator is eating ducklings in the duck breeding season to vary its food intake, and an angry mother duck can do nothing to protect her offspring from this kind of predatory eating behavior. The ducks are a lot smaller than the herons, and because of this, a mother duck is unable to adequately defend herself and her babies from an aggressive heron that eats ducklings. The heron successfully hunts and eats baby ducks right through the duck nesting season from the start of spring and to the end of the summer months, and eating ducklings regularly throughout these seasons is an essential part of the heron's complex and varied diet. The herons are highly adapted birds that apply experience and instinct when hunting ducklings, and their finely tuned attacks are an incredible example of what nature and evolution will create for an animal to survive in the wild natural world every day. The heron is a species of meat-eating predatory wading bird that attacks and feeds on other animals they are carnivorous predators; they are a top predator and are exceptional hunters of all kinds of prey animals live and breed throughout the world. Herons have an incredible instinct to attack and eat other animals, and this type of feeding behaviour has evolved over millions of years to enable them to have an extensive menu of wild protein-rich food. The herons have a very diverse diet of meat from hunting and eating other animals, and they especially like to eat fish and a wide variety of aquatic creatures that live in seawater and freshwater. The heron can be seen actively hunting and eating baby birds throughout the breeding seasons, especially when they live and breed in the herons' natural habitats. The herons can be found living and breeding in almost every habitat close to water throughout the world.

I've seen a heron pull an eel out of the local creek. The eel faught until the heron got it in it's beak. Then the heron played "crack the whip" with the eel, snapping it's spine. Then the eel was lunch. It was a fantastic "real world" moment. These things happen every day, thousands of time. I felt honored to witness the raw truth of nature, unfiltered by Disney or the Discovery channel.

I love how the description said "The herons are highly adapted birds that apply experience and instinct when hunting ducklings." like there is a science to this. It's just snatching them out of the water. It's not "hunting" them. It's a freakin' buffet...

I think herons swallow fish alive as well. They're built that way, I don't think there's any cruel intent... they just don't have the tools and not being tool users/ builders like us it probably wouldn't occur to them to try... or if it did they wouldn't know how....

I habe one of these at my local lake. I feed the fish and that feeds him so now he follows me and walks beside me. He walks close enough next to me to touch him. It's not "nature' specifically, it's how the heron body is designed... not being a tool user, even if he did think of killing before eating his prey he probably wouldn't know how. It comes so easy to us because we have been making tools for millennia, but most animals aren't and so they seem cruel but they really are just stuck with what they have, they aren't tool makers. Fang, claw and beak are the tools, while we make our own.

I don't see your perspective of the comment section reflected on the actual comment section, actually. Most people are aware that herons need food too and that ducks are prey birds. However, it's understandably sad to watch a bird get eaten alive and being humans we share our thoughts in the comment section with other people. Ain't nothing wrong with that. Also, your argument about humans just makes no sense to me at all. First off, we don't eat each other alive, so the analogy makes little sense to boot. But let's ignore that part and focus only on the killing part. We complain about that all the time as well! How many news articles have been published after a single terrorist attack, a single battle, even after "just" an accident?! We spend a great deal of time obsessing about these things, not just about them ducklings. To word it differently, to me it sounds like your point is "we can't complain about nature because then we'd be hypocrites for not complaining about ourselves first", but we actually do complain about ourselves all the time. So I don't see your point, really.

+manwhofartinchurch sitsinhisownpew do you mean dumb ass like it the donkey as it's dumb or the butt that's dumb. As you mean dumb donkey which describes you as in the "ass" part or the "dumb" part, as in you trying to be smart and making donkeys dumb? Or as in stupid but apparently smart but dumb an you mean of "dumb"?
