"A AAA game in budget shoes" I've always had that feeling about this franchise and this review did an excellent job of communicating that. Good stuff

so let me get this straight. This game is about sniping/killing people, it has a gory kill cam but these developers cant be bothered to include any blood or gore for regular shots? at least add a blood splatter or bullet wounds.

I'm an enormous fan of this series, to me the stealth & slow-mo gore never gets old. My most anticipated game this year, only a day away for me, it never has had the stellar graphics of many other AAA games but the game-play & executions completely make up for it, I reviewed the last one & loved it. I appreciate your early review on it bud, excellent man!

great review! first time watching a review of yours and was impressed by how informative it was.

You are right about the map sizes, Jesus, some of the maps took me two hours to get through and I STILL missed some of the collectibles, the letters found in buildings or on dead bodies. The explosions as trucks go boom were well done, the hiding in bushes was silly but I can understand why they were there and the homage to the Witcher, the twin rifles strapped to his back. One thing I didn't appreciate were the pistols, just one silenced pistol given you at the start of the game. It was such a useful tool that it eliminated the need to try out any of the other pistol types which were all unsuppressed, I thought that was a wasted opportunity. They could have added a suppressor as a modifier. Co-Op is fun, one spotting and tagging with Binoculars while the other shoots them, covering one another when one gets pinned down the other clears a path out of trouble. One really disruptive thing for me though was, in co-op and single after the early levels, you could change to the female character, the resistance fighter. But during cutscenes you went back to Karl. I understand that the story is Karl's story but it was just jarring to change like that then change back at the end of the cutscene, perhaps they should not have allowed an avatar change at all and left you as Karl. Fantastic review as always though. Your structure combined with humour, cynicism, attention to detail and finally the summary as to whether you had fun playing it were as ever commanding and honest.

I love the franchise, but this fourth installment did look a bit rough around the edges from all the preview streams. Wasn't sure until today, so thanks for the insight!

Excellent review as always. I tried Elite 3 when it went on deep sale before and it's just so damn buggy, it killed the experience for me. I loved the admittedly ridiculous gore and the feeling it gave you, but the traversal of the character across most surfaces seemed like a chore. It seems they have cleared some of that up, but I don't feel comfortable paying $60 for a similar experience. Thank you for making these videos; you're the real MVP of KZfaq reviewers!

Very good review! I think I'll be picking this game up eventually. I liked the previous game but hated how they throw a tank at you at the end of every level. This basically looks like Sniper Elite 3.5, which for me is a good thing if they got rid of the tank sequences at the end of levels.

Soooo worth picking up as a free ps plus game.

got Sniper Elite 3 on sale on the cheap and will do the same here. Fun game but wish Rebellion tries something new going forward, like the series to move to a new setting such as Vietnam for example.

one of the very few games i didnt buy after watching your review ^^ . SE3s ammo scarcity was not for me, the rest was amazing ! . another good thing with your reviews is that you cram info in a fluent way into short reviews, make the info digestable and smooth and as all your videos says, unsponsored. And dont know if you have thought about it, but your reviews are done in a way that it can both be watched, but even if you play em, and wander your appartment\house you still get the Info and you understand it due to the level of detail and word choises ! 10/10

Good review! A couple of things bothered me in the earlier games. One is that you could'nt switch shoulder-view, have they fixed that? The other thing that grinds my gears is that you couldnt walk, just jog or sprint... (at least on the pc-version) Can you do that in SE4?

I've enjoyed the Sniper Elite series since the first game and Sniper Elite 4 looks to be no different. Sure, textures could look better in some places. Characters could've been given facial expressions instead of appearing like manikins. Shooting an enemy in the face repeatedly only to have him pop right back up is very odd. However, despite those issues, Sniper Elite 4 looks like a very fun game. Slow motion x-ray shots never get old. In fact, I remember when I played Sniper Elite V2 a while back and I saw the x-ray shot for the first time. Of course, my initial reaction was "So that's how the human anatomy looks like." Lol! I do plan on buying this game even with its issues. Thanks Karak for being the best reviewer on KZfaq and for making another great review. Its much appreciated and keep it up!

This game should be played in "authentic plus" difficulty (without saving ;-) ). Best AI in this type of games I have seen in years!

Great review. It's too bad the game couldn't quite fire on all cylinders at release but hopefully they can fix some of the issues you ran across and make it a better experience. I was really hoping this would be the definitive Sniper Elite game, but for now I'll stick to 3. 4 seems like it'll make a great $25-$30 game in it's current state and maybe a good $35-$40 one if they patch out some of the issues.

Question for you. At some point I selected a character skin (uniform) for Karl. Now, when I play the campaign, he's stuck in that uniform for all missions. He no longer changes to white for winter missions, for example. I have no idea how to fix this problem. I want him to automatically change uniforms like he did from the start, but I see no default setting. Ironically, the white uniform is locked in character select even though it previously worked in campaign mode. Do you have any idea how to fix this problem? (PS4 Pro)

Just asking for a question that i didn't see in the review. Can anyone tell me please if in coop mode we can keep the slo-mo kill, and if we can finally save midgame while with a friend? This two thing (the impossibility to save and no slow motion as an option) really ruined sniper elite 3 for us. I would gladly accept to pause the game to see a beautiful shot from my friend >.

The jump from 3 to 4 is massive. The movement, stealth and gunplay in 3 was just a bit jankey and the maps lacked areas to hide in the open. While the movement in 4 is about as smooth as uncharted, the stealth is more active and the gunplay is more precise.

what did u think of the ubisoft game for honor? :) I was on fence about It but since playing betas I'm definitely on board
