It's the perfect ship to farm damage. And by that I mean you can farm its health pool for damage as it poses 0 risk to you in your Neptune while sitting broadside on.

I'm looking at this ship... and I'm completely stunned. These guns are absolutely horrible. I mean, German mid tier battlecruiser guns are horrid, but this is something else. This is kind of amazing. Not penetrating Shokaku... just... wow.

I feel like this is a ship designed to be played by idiots in Operations. - good armour all around a no superstructure to withstand the shell spam of all the low tier ships you will face - "good enough" secondaries for all the low tier ships - lots of shells to hit stuff even when you suck at aiming - slow turret traverse does not matter in Operations - slow speed so people can not rush ahead It is the only way how I can make sense of this abomination.

Everyone's focusing on the negatives, but think of the positives! Like...those really neat, curvy torpedoes! Look how cool they are! Only new, *special* ships get those; no one expects a BB with curvy torps, so that'll give you an edge. Why, in the hands of a skilled player, there's only a slight chance the Anhalt will perform poorly at TX (which is technically the only tier it will ever see).

Weegee hates Germany so much, that they somehow made a ship that make Italian BBs look accurate in comparison

so the lower belt is 350mm or something but the upper belt is 250 and the roof of the citadel is 30mm so if you aim high belt you can get easier pens it does have a turtle back but the inner edge of it is 30mm and the side of the citadel is spaced with 50mm of side citadel behind the 350/30 turtle back... but the angle on the turtle back is very shallow..... and the citadel is below the water line for the most part... the problem is the roof of it... its vulnerable to high plunging shots and upper belt shots.

To be honest the most surprising thing I learned today was Shokaku's armor. 215mm belt.

They make these shitty ship s for two reasons: 1. Immediate cash from whales and 2. Crappy ships for Xmas.

The Cossack was smart to get out of C. he had a BB, cruiser and a DD in C. 3 vs 1 is a good reason to get out. he could have had up to 7 ships shooting at him there and he was alone.

WG seems to have an inconsistent strategy to balancing ships with "sub-par" gun size. Florida has great accuracy and penetration but low damage. Mecklenburg has good everything in exchange for being a very squishy ship with bad firing angles. Anhalt just gets the shaft. Has absolutely nothing going for it. In it's current state, armour and all, you could probably dump this thing into Tier6 and it would be fine. But instead Weegee steals your money and tells you Tier3 guns is a feature because you have more guns to be disappointed about.

I love how one YTWOWs guru says this is 15 guns bringing "balanse" and another calls it shit. FFS

Well I seen worse with the hizen which could pretty much miss a lot of things even with all guns pointed at a target, a Montana full broadside at 6KM, and only ONE shell hit, And it was a bounce! And to top it off, unlike the iwami which wargaming gave 51mm deck, hizen gets 32mm deck armor which makes her the only tier 9 japanese bb with 32mm deck. before I sold the ship to get credits to finish off a tech line to get the Ohio, pretty much every shell that hit my hizen dealt substantial damage to me and hizen gets one less of the Standard japanese repair party.

Played clan battles this weekend. I in my Roma VS Anhalt. I killed him in 4 salvos alone. He did about 6k to me.

Look at all the main guns. I need to use my broadside because of the secondaries. These BB players that I see now days really dont understand anything about this game. Last night in clan battles one of our so called good players was going on about how you take less damage on the broadside then on the nose.
