It's a rare thing for a legend to compliment another legend. Naushad for his innovations apart from being a maestro gives a very slight edge over others. If music alone is the benchmark, MM, Salilda, SD, SJ, Roshan were no less. Away from the above, he fought for the preservation and progress of Indian Music until his last breath.

It is rather impossible to compare these maestros who ruled Indian film music for two decades. They were outright geniuses. Khem chand, Hansraj Bahl, Naushad, Anil Biswas, Ghulam Mohammad, Sajjad, Ghulam Haider, Gayan Ditt, c. Ramchandra Roshan, OP Nayyar, Madan Mohan, Bullo c Rani. Shankar Jaikishan and a few more. Whom one can separate as the best? They were all great men working together in the same era. Naushd was the most successfull with 4 Diamond, 8 Golden and 19 Silver Jubillee films on his credit. While the other great Madan Mohan had all flopped filme.

Both Anilda and Naushad were great Music Directors but Shankar&Jaikishan were no less. In terms of numbers no one can beat them and mind you most of them were super hits. In fact the success of most films can be attributed to their excellent compositions.

The greatest contribution of Anil ji n Naushad ji was : Introduction of new/western concepts in Indian music such as use of heavy orchetra, choirs, & mixing of instruments & better recording techniques. In these areas these guys were pioneers.

Naushad was a great composer but we are surprised that despite Mukesh singing outstanding songs in Mela.Anokhi Ada and Andaz Mukesh was not used for 19 years till film Sathee.where Mukesh again sang outstandingly.

I noted especially that such big people have not been helped by the government and remained almost as the poor and the needy that is very sad and noticeable issue and that needs to be reconsidered for such people who gave their life for the art and the cultural values to sustain and lived for ever.These people must be heard and counted for their concerns and be given respect and financial support not before their dying but at the age of their needs.

Yes! Naushad Saheb had always paid great respect to Anil Biswas Ji.Once he said"Anil Biswas Ji is my Guru". And Anil Da said "This is greatness of Naushsd". Both legends have their own place and it is not fair for anyone to compare such great personalities.

It is Anilda’s humility , otherwise Naushad can’t even stand in front of this legend! It is Anil biswas who introduced orchestra with full choral effect in Kismet 1943 ! Also he is a much senior composer ! He launched Mukesh & Talat mehmood ! His Tarana 1951 can be ranked in Indian cinema’s Top 5 soundtracks easily ! He taught Lata breath control and laya ! He never went after Rafi for producing commercial hits ! Instead he opted for the velvety voice of Talat mehmood & the heavenly Mukesh !

IF I AM NOT WRONG ONCE I HEARD MR ANIL BISWAS'S INTERVIEW ON RADIO IN WHICH HIS WAS IN PROCESS OF REHARSAL WITH ONE SONG WITH NEW SINGER. SINGER WAS NOT UP TO THE MARK THEN HE SAID I (ANIL JI) WILL SING. THEN THE NEW SINGER SAID IF YOU WILL SING WHAT WILL BE FUTURE OF SINGER LIKE ME. HE NEVER DISCLOSED THE NAME OF THAT SINGER ALSO STOP SINGING - CARRY OUT ONLY MUSIC DIRECTION. I WANT TO KNOW THE NAME IF MY ABOVE STATEMENT IS TRUE.

Maine bhi bahut dhoondha aur film music ki baat ho to Shankar Jaikishan ko ignore karna namumkin hai. Naushad himself once said SJ musicians nhi hai they are magicians. Such was their greatness and the success they got.

Naushad was incomplete withot discussion of film baiju bawra but this anil did not mention because then rafi might be discussed but he hates rafi saheb.

Oh, nobody hated Rafi. He was one of the best human beings in the industry. Anil Biswas didn't like Rafi's voice quality. He preferred Talat and Mukesh among the 50s male singers.

When Anil was going down and giving flops after flops, he gave Rafi some songs too to become popular again, but at that time even Rafi cudnt help him. Movies were 'Beqasoor', 'Paisa hee paisa' and 'Heer' lol

Anil Biswas was anti Rafi. Even in this program he did not play any of Rafi+Naushad milestone songs like: "Dil main chupake pyaar ka tufan. O dunya ke rakhwale, Suhani raat dal chuki or later moduban me radhika nache re or Man tarpadth haridharshan aaj... It shows his ignorance to world's best singers ability who could only sung those songs..
