He honeytraps her. She does not spill the beans till that explosion. And that explosion is what makes her spill because she thought abrar did it and she might have also thought that Abrar also wanted to get rid of her aswell. Because that car was basically gift for her. So the timing is very specific. Thats why she spills. He did honeytrap her. But yes it was unfair to his wife. But Ranvijay was desperate. Zoya was the only way he thought he could finally find out who is behind all this. So he was ready to try everything. Hence he honeytraps her. Confuses her with the explosion and it works. But yes in all this he did develop a soft spot for her. He is shown in this as a person who act with clarity but yes that clarity gets blinded as the plot moves forward and he becomes more obsessed and desperate which leads him to break his own promise where he said he will never betray her after wedding yet he does exactly that. It shows how low he has fallen morally in his desperation... And the cheating part is very important because before that we keep in a way romanticising him in our head saying he is doing for the family. Or atleast he is loyal to his wife. We overlook his toxic traits. But cheating scene is where we finally understand how low he has fallen. First half shows him having protective traits, second half shows how those same protective traits become abusive and toxic.

you people dont know a little about how the indian people love , its completely possible to love in a day , than in a week, well the movies been influenced everyone that way to be loyal and honest , now its changing and lot moving to western ideologies of dating multiple ones , many things in this movie will feel off but its true if were not taken in a exaggerated way , 90percent indian men will have revenge mentality inside him , if you even troll him , he will wait for the chance to give it back , even after 50 years he will do it, if he felt not strong at the moment . also i hope you noticed that this bollywood only have white skin actors in major lead, south is maybe 40% different and the best movies.
