Animal walk is a fun exercise to engage children in gross motor play and encourage their imagination and imitation skills. These activities help children receive calming deep pressure on their joints and limbs, and help strengthen their core muscles, develop a sense of balance, body awareness and encourage bilateral coordination. It provides sensory input (proprioceptive and vestibular) to the body depending upon the complexity of the walks. They are simple and can be done by children as young as 3 years old.
