don´t you think that in a war rescue-workers are not needed? ^^ or why asking this blaming question? those guys are also risking their live rescuing people from the floods. also army is rescuing people because mines are now everywhere in the water (also soldiers have some free days from frontline and are there for rescuing people). and Russia still shoots at the people trying to rescue other people. sorry, no understanding for people who are sitting at home farting in their seat and thinking they know everything better, especially blaming first responders. and yes - to rescue also someone´s animal is also important, especially this person lost everything else. Sometimes thinking before writing helps a bit for a better worldunderstanding - especially if you don´t know much about the situations and who the people are.

Enough of the superficial, simplistic attitude. There has been a war here since 2014. Some of these men will have served *years* at the front already. Others will be in vital occupations, keeping infrastructure going. Others are not eligible for war service because of illnesses and disabilities you cannot see: diabetes, heart conditions, eyesight, hearing, mental health, battle fatigue, previous injuries. You can also see the majority of them are over 40. Some - you can see some in fatigues but who are not armed - they’re probably soldiers in leave.

You do realise an army cannot be sustained without an economy to sustain it, right?
