This little CO is not a joke. It may have saved my life once. I remember back in the day I couldn’t afford a hotel room and slept in my car with a gas heater and my CO detector woke me up at 4 am because my CO level was 200+. Today I keep 2-3 of these at hand while camping.

I had this exact same kidde alarm give off a reading of 157 ppm, caught me by surprise. The gas company couldn't find any CO when they arrived. It went off in the kitchen, and the oven hadn't been used in the past 24 hours, and the stovetop was only used briefly to whip up pancakes for maybe 5-10 minutes (but that was hours before the alarm sounded). The alarm has been in the same location for a couple years and has never gone off like that until now. I'm puzzled as to whether it was a false reading or if was actually that high. There is no water heater inside the apartment (it's in a cage on the exterior), nor any space heaters.

I test mine that just arrived and it read 495 but it didn’t sound the alarm. Should I return it? I did tested manually and the alarm did sound but by herself she doesn’t. I got CO readings up to 456 😮

My did the same thing read 259 never sounded kidde didn’t care plus I’m confused had a headache brought new one fine now strove sometime does tahg

Mine keeps beeping once every minute for the last several hours. I thought it was the batteries gone bad since acid was beginning to form on the connectors, but even after removing them and resetting it, it's still beeping. Nothing that would signal an intense CO poisonous state, but I've opened my windows to air out my apt and it's still beeping once every minute. It's driving me crazy!

These work well , but never misplace the back plate because their website for replacement parts is a joke. They should just state ..buy a whole new unit .

It isn't a good idea to run combustion engines indoors, as, as the test with the motorcycle exhaust and CO detector showed, a motorcycle engine can crap out over 800 ppm of CO, which can cause unconsciousness in two hours.

That alarm wouldn't wake up anyone.

is electronic waste after 10 years! It just switches off and just honks without any other function. The device is an environmental mess! I'll never buy again!
