Anyone else think that somewhere in the Batcave, Batman is watching the news with a satisfied grin while Albert is looking at him and saying, "Master Bruce, did you teach Mr. Kent how you intimidate villians, did you?"

The craziest part about the final fight… is that Superman was STILL holding himself back. Even when he started to get a little bit more violent against the Elite, he still wasn’t even close to using his full power. In reality is Superman didn’t hold back, he would’ve destroyed the elite so quickly… but he could’ve also caused a ridiculous amount of damage in the process.

One of the neat things about this movie is that the VA for Superman also did the voice for Sephiroth in the English dub of Final Fantasy 7: Advent Children and you can really hear it when Superman starts acting cold blooded in the end of this.

The idea that it's morally right to allow innocent people to be hurt or killed so that a violent attacker can eventually "have their day in court" is caustic to civilization. Pacify or neutralize the threat and keep innocents safe first. Then worry about who's paying for the killer's legal defense. This is where most "superheros" fail. They're unwilling to sacrifice any part of their precious self-image by ending a threat and so the same killers offend again and again. Would we praise a firefighter that followed a fire around a building spritzing it with water as it killed victim after victim? No, we'd demand he be fired for massive incompetence at best, or jailed for malicious disregard for life at worst. Being reluctant to kill is good, but refusing to kill even when it is absolutely neccesary is a hazard to everyone around you.

I 100% agree. I liked that Superman killed Zod in Man of Steel. Zod would kill the whole earth if he wasn't stopped. Every day in real life, I see people get short sentences and kill again shortly after release. Some people are relentlessly evil and need to die

What this movie I think actually does a good job with is portraying the ideology of the Elite as being ultimately flawed... yet not unreasonable. After all, it's one of the big moral conundrums of super hero stories in general, where the super hero constantly fights the same villains over and over and over... and they keep coming back. At what point would the actions of those villains fall upon the shoulders of the very heroes who fight to stop them? At what point would people look at Batman and say "Why the hell haven't you killed the Joker yet? How many times does he have to break out and you haul his a$$ back in before you realize it's not working?!" At what point would the blood of the innocent spilled by the villains ultimately be upon the hands of the heroes who've had the chance to stop them permanently, yet failed to do so due to their morals and convictions? And the thing is... that's not an unreasonable perspective. The Elite weren't entirely in the wrong in this movie, and the movie does do a good job of pointing out that fact. But here's where the issue becomes much more muddy; When Superman decides to curb stomp the Elite in such a brutal fashion, he's not just showing the Elite what would happen if he stopped holding back and started using their methods... he's also showing the WORLD exactly what things would be like if Superman started acting like Judge, Jury, and Executioner. And it's not pretty. The Injustice alternate universe is a thing for a reason; it showcases what would happen when beings like Superman did decide to do what so many people want them to do; start brutalizing criminals. When someone, anyone gets that kind of power and authority, well it does not go anywhere good in the long run. Sure, at first you'll find things getting better as the most horrible criminals just get slaughtered... but then what happens when Superman decides to start punishing lesser crimes? Then even smaller crimes? All the way down to the most petty? Who could stop him? He demonstrates in this movie exactly how horrifying it would be if Superman ever did decide to start acting like Judge Dredd. Thing is... I do think that the truth lies somewhere in the middle. Superman's methods of just doing the minimal amount of violence to take down and bring in villains does not really solve the problem, and the movie does actually show that to be the case and doesn't gloss over it or try to handwave it. On the other hand, Superman is absolutely correct in that the world should NOT be relying upon either him or other super powered beings like the Elite to start dealing out judgement, because that will ultimately lead to an even worse place than the former.

@@athatcher9367 That's the thing, it's really hard and i personally go as far as say that it's far fetched with some of the elite that they were able to just strip them off their powers. Still, i see shadow dimension (or however this kryptonian prison was called) used too rarely. It's simpler in the case of Batman on why he isn't killing. He has only 1 rule, one thing that makes him different from the kind he fights, Raz Al Ghul perfectly captures that Batman would be a villain, if he stopped following this rule.

I like how Superman apparently has an army of robots that come out of nowhere at the end. I also like how he suddenly has the ability to remove people's powers and that it's something he's never done before even though it would've been tremendously useful in stopping supervillains from being repeat offenders and saved countless lives. It's very convenient for the writers: if you've ever written yourself into a corner, just make up whatever you want to fix the plot. You don't even have to go back and foreshadow or establish anything! Just pull a solution out of your ass and everything will be okay!

They try to solve every big and small problems which is not their duty, but they have only one way to solve it : forcefully Settle The Matter, and therefore they turn problems into competition, and at the end they calculate if they win or loose. You were meant to solve problems, but ultimately you create more problems while solving it. 😂😂😂

... And then all the people who got killed by the Scull were revived and also admitted that violence that leads to death is not the solution. How convenient! Superman finally figured he could use some help from his robots to prevent deaths of inocent - something he didn't do previously while fighting all the other public enemies. This is so dumb I can't stand it. Here's the logic I prefer for Superman: the guy lives in our society, he experienced directly or indirectly all our wickedness and cruelty, as well as our friendship and love. He knows how easily we become broken, mad. So his reasoning could be and should be like this: if Superman spends his time and efforts risking his life to save others from the dangerous criminals then it's his and only his business what to do with the villains he defeated. And if others whant to decide their fate, then they should step forward, but without relying on Superman's help because he's most likely much stronger than you can possibly be.
