Red Hawks actually did at one time have a Wikipedia entry. I know this because that’s how I found out it was a Korean film when I first looked it up after purchasing the VHS at a thrift store years ago. But after looking for it again it seems that it was deleted for some strange reason...

Meanwhile, here are a few Wikipedia entries that ARE notable enough to keep. * Glass Joe, recurring Punch Out!! character. * Bat'leth, a.k.a. the Klingon sword. ("Note the replica of the 'Sword of Kahless,'" says the photo caption. WAS THERE AN ORIGINAL!?) * The Noid, long-defunct Domino's Pizza mascot of the '80s. * Pegging. * The Dazzler, disco-themed Marvel superhero. (And holy shit is that entry thorough.) * Pocky. (Though it's needed additional citations for verification since 2012.)

I swear, this anime is almost beat-for-beat Samurai Champloo. Weird-looking guy is eating at an establishment when a ruffian hassles the waitress, weird-looking guy is about to handle the ruffian when a quiet, mysterious stranger steps in and initiates the fight, but the restaurant is smashed up, anyway. The girl then decides to follow the two people to find the person who killed her parents. Change up a few details in both shows, but the overall plot fits neatly either way. Even to the point of Steve Blum playing the weird-looking guy in both shows. That's hilarious.

It should be noted that up until recently, which still lingers in some today, South Korea had A LOT of bad blood with Japan, predating WWII, but especially from it. That being said, it makes some sense that South Korean studios would rather rip-off Japan rather then touch them with a ten mile pole.

Loving the Aqua Teen Hunger Force refereces dude, Dr Weird its gold tier comedy stuff man. Now that i had seen the Not-TRON and Not-Dragon Ball korean relative and now the Not-Street Fighter korean version i had seen everything from them now, i mean yeah the Hedgehog and Squirrel stuff its....messed up to say the least but at least some sort of originality and quality went in there *SOME SORT* not so much after all, but this? god damn its quite stupid, i mean yeah it has some "good" designs and decent animation but dear god its just bland and stupid, and has nothing going on for anything in the OVA. Also its is me or in the cover Red Hawk looks like that Hawk looking girl from that Turbograph 16 game called Strip Fighter? but as like a male version of her of course, well at least they could had used him to do a porn spin off where he is some kind of stripper like that girl, at least it could had "pleased" some girls out there.

I saw this movie a few hours ago. I thought it was... Alright. Nothing fantastic, but not horrible either. Hey, Sage. While you're on the subject of Korean anime, you should review the Korean Street Fighter anime movie. It came out in 1992, which was two years before "Street Fighter II: The Animated Movie". Its a VERY bizarre film. But unlike the 1994 animated movie which was an official licensed product, this Korean knock off is unofficial since Capcom never authorized it. And I'd like to see you do that movie justice. I don't know where you can find a physical copy of it anywhere. But its on KZfaq.

A little known series, you probably haven't heard of it, FREAKING AVATAR THE LAST AIRBENDER! Also Voltron, The new one. Korea can pump out some magnificent stuff when it wants to. Yeah those were written over here in the West, but you can't take away the animation itself.

Not the case at all. Bebop saw its English release in 2001 on Adult Swim. Red Hawk was released in English for August of 2002, according to IMDB. 2:10 To be fair to Korean authorities, they had very good reason to be mistrusting of Japanese media, having been occupied by Japan for decades, and forced to teach an entirely fictionalized pro-Japan history in their public schools. Japan's propaganda didn't just stop there. Many forms of media were rounded up and burned by Japanese forces, to be replaced with pro-Japanese re-education material. Remember, it's not just anime that is made in Korea, plenty of US animation is, too. Hell, I half expected the big reveal to be that they had yoinked from Batman TAS, I know for a fact that was mostly animated in Korea. But really, I can't exactly condemn them, they basically pulled a Disney. Back in the day, Disney famously re-used animation in multiple films, basically just tracing new characters over old cels.

You should really do more Joseph Lei movies. Just get a cardboard cut out of Spoony and you're set ^^

I like this movie. I finally saw it due to KZfaq. The box art was what got me wanting to see this

Bennett would you be interested in reviewing the Highlander anime movie? It seems it's a movie that not a lot of people are talking about and would be perfect for your show

something i noticed about the animation is how flowy it feels to anime. instead just mouth flaps, the character at least move a bit more. guess that what happens when outsourced studios do their own works. rubs off on ya.
